They say that jesus was supposed to return 1000 thousand years after his death, it has now been just over 2000 thousand years and yet we are still waiting for judgment day to come and hit us. Is it really going to come and when and how will it come?. Will any one survive or is death the only way to live eternal happiness?.

The disciples believed that Jesus would return in their lifetime. The Thessalonians were becoming discouraged because they where dieing off and the thought that those who were left alive would go to heaven before those who had died so Paul tries to comfort them with a word from the Lord in 1 Thes 4:15-18 that those who have died will be raised from the dead when Jesus returns and we who are left behind will be caught up together in the clouds and that this will be the time of family reunion. It will be Judgment day for those who have rejected Christ as Messiah. They will die at Jesus return according the peter and Malachi and Jesus (Matt 24 and Luke 17) There will be another judgment day at the end of the 1000 years according to Rev 20.
In the 1840's there was a movement called the Millerite movement which was a message of Christ's return which was supposed to occur in 1844. Many people followed this movement and were bitterly disappointed when He did not return as expected.
The signs have all be fulfilled, the earth gets more wicked everyday and the Gospel of His kingdom is going to the ends of the earth. It is soon and very soon. However we must live out lives as of He were to tarry because every generation has had the hope that He would return in their lifetime, particularly since the mid 1800's

No judgment day is not overdue, Jesus said no man no the time nor the hour when the He shall come.

Matthew 24:36-42
But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving into marriage, until the day that Noe (Noah) entered into the ark.

And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.
Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as you think not the Son of man cometh.

The word of God hasn't been totally fulfilled yet, but it's coming up to the point of being fulfill; and it 's closer than anyone thinks. God has an appointed time set no one knows this time but God.
1000 years ago wasn't His appointed time. So people can stop putting a deadline on when God is coming. They were looking for Him just like they knew the time. He said in his word no one knows and that's what He meant. The only thing any of us can do is be ready when He comes or be ready when it's your time to leave this world. Because ready or not one day you're going to leave this world and ready or not Jesus is surely coming back again; and yes there will be survivors and they will live in eternal happiness with Jesus the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.

This world has a destiny and it's with God!

Who's "THEY"?

first of all, the Bible itself says the day & hour is unknown (except to God himself)...so whoever "they" is, "they" are obviously not too well versed with truth...

secondly,
As much as we'd sometimes like to see the 'evil' of this world get what's coming to them, no - I pray that judgement day don't come yet...I have far too many loved ones still outside of God.

thirdly,
yes, judgement day really will come.
We've been in the last days, since Jesus was on this earth; and though it may seem almost like an 'eternity' to us - it's probably but a minute (or even a second!!) to God.

as for anyone surviving...surviving what? I think a better question would be will there be anyone found 'worthy'?

In the meantime, I'll be praying in intercessory for those who don't know Jesus. Are you one of them?

Time is a human invention, the Bible even says (I paraphrase) that 1000 years to humans is like 1 day to God. Judgment day will in fact come - just don't rush it. Survivors will not be the believers. The believers will be taken at that time to Heaven. So the survivors are the people that did not accept God, another name for them is the damned.

The Bible is very clear that no man knows the hour that Jesus will return. I have no idea where you got the 1000 year information.

I don't remember reading anyhting in the bible about the definite time that Jesus will come. He will come in due time.. And only God knows when that time is. There will difinitely be a judgement day. When and how it will come, I don't know.

Get ready, get ready, GET READY

If you're looking for judgment day, you have the wrong focus. If you're looking for the rapture and the blessed event when we will be with Him, thats a different story.

We will know when the time is near. The olive tree is budding...

get ready!

Who is 'they?'

If you really don't want to be frustrated with dooms day deadlines come and passed then I would subscribe to the Watchtower. I don't know how many times they told people it would be within a year. Then they sell all their stuff and whoops... we meant next year... or uh another few years... 5... lets make it five.

For all who blaspheme the Lord, yes, past due. Be thankful for His mercy and patience. There is still time. Today...you have today.
