no. they are two totally different liquids.
also as a rule of thumb...don't cook with any wine that you wouldn't drink.

Heck No... Vinegar is way different. Though many "cooking wines" are about a slight level above vinegar, you never want to substitue one for the other. Even more important, never cook with a wine you wouldn't drink.

A rule to remember when cooking, if you can't drink it, don't use it! The alcohol will burn off and leave you with an intensified flavor of the wine. Imagine eating vinegar....yuck!

No, white vinegar is acidic and has a sour taste to it. White wine is sweeter and it reduces as it cooks to make a thicker sauce.

well you can use either one, but they are both different. One is a vinegar and the other is a wine and each one will give a different taste.

oh goodness NO! Vinegar is MUCH more acidic. Some white wines actually add sweetness.

Vinegar will give you more of a "tangier" taste. White wine will have a hint of tangy.

You can just use water in the same amount instead...water and chicken stock are nice if you need some flavor. : )
