I believe that no one should enforce a decision on anyone else or deny them that decision through guilt or invasive opinionating. If it were me i would say no because i believe it is a sadness to sacrifice the life of a living being so we can maintain a certain living standard. If i got someone pregnant and she was adamant to have the abortion i would tell her my view and make her WELL INFORMED of both sides, then if she still wants to, even though i personally disagree i would respect her decision and go so far as to go to the clinic and hold her sleeping hand through the procedure in support of her. Without a child youand your loved one can free yourselves of restrictions, travel the world together, visit lands as normal as East coast America, as quiet as Ireland or trek exotic Nepal. All together. But i ask this-why can this not be done with your child, with the 3 of you. The education and experience will shape you all, all 3 of you to be free spirits and wiser and happier. Compromise with the sacrifices you "think" you have to make in order to be a good mother. hink outside the box of motherhood and maybe you'll see the lack of necissity in aborting that lovely wee baby. Failing taht-there's always adoption for a family who desperately want but cannot have a child.

My liberal views have always kept me pro-choice, but let's analyze this for a minute. One thing is a fact: no human being understands the conception of life and what exactly constitutes a state of being, because if that were well understood there would be no argument. It's all life. the sperm is alive before conception, the egg is alive before conception, yet it is not until the union of the two that we call these two cells a human being.
Another fact: no one fully understands the meaning of consciousness, let alone at what point a being's consciousness is awakened. We can say the fetus feels no pain, because its nerve endings and neurons are not fully developed yet, does a baby not feel pain if you ended its life? The conception of life is very beautiful in most people's eyes, and diminishing that beauty of something born in innocence wrenches people's guts.
Is it truely a woman's body? Is it not two seperate bodies? A man has no say in the matter, yet is not my sperm that has inseminated the egg, attributing half of its genes and determining its sex? Is it not the male's offspring as well? It's an ugly question that makes people look inward and come up with no definite answers, only opinions and majority rule. I have to agree with the majority rule on this one, and say that during a certain point in pregnancy it is on the basis of the one harboring said life that will decide the fate of said life. I'm content with the status quo, and feel at the same time that it is a conundrum for a society to want to save the old and dying and allow fetuses to be destroyed.
It is also a conundrum to send our youth into battle for spurious agendas, culminating in the death of thousands that are awake and living, yet save a fetus that has not awakened into consciousness. We are killing the living and saving the unborn. The collective meaning of life is to live and remain living, but it wouldn't have hurt my feelings any, had I been aborted.

I think abortions should be legal to the 15th week of pregnancy. I base this on brain development. It is during the 15th to 18th weeks the cerebral cortex develops, and therefore the possibility of an individual consciousness. Until then all you have is a bundle of nerve endings with physiological responses. After 15 weeks the fetus should be given full protection under the law as an individual. If a woman cannot make a decision by the 15th week I have no pity for her. I base legal issues on the Constitution so metaphysical concerns have no place in legislation. I do think a husband should have some say in the abortion process and I believe minors should have parental concent, and if a parent says no then a doctor should not be legally allowed to perform one.

I do not believe in abortion on demand.
Life is precious.
A mother's life is precious.
A child's life is precious.
A fetus' life is precious.
If a mother is dying and an abortion will save her life to continue to care for her other children, then I would chose for the mother.
But, first I would pray!
I would pray for everyone involved:
Very Earnestly.

I personally would NEVER get one.....but to make it against the law is wrong too. We live in the US-land of the free....so who are we to tell a woman what she can do with HER body!!! I personally do NOT agree with it...unless cases of rape, incest, possibility of SEVERE deformities, or a danger to the mom....but those who go out and have sex unprotected and end up pregnant (big shocker there) should think about adoption or something before killing a baby. Don't be a whore and sleep with lots of random people and if you do...at least be smart and use protection..it isn't that big of a deal. That's how I see it.....

I am against it. There is no good reason to have one, even if it is rape. It wasn't the babies fault that its mother got raped so why punish the kid? Some people say what about the child feeling bad about its mother being raped. Well that isn't always true. My mom was raped and I resulted from it and I am not mad at my mom for having me. If the mother cant afford a kid there are parents willing to pay for the expenses. If she can afford it and just don't want kids then she can give it up for adoption. There is only one that is acceptable for taking a child from the mothers womb and that is if it is a good medical reason.

yes,i do have a stronger view on abortion,it is wrong to kill, and to kill our own children would exceptionally cruel,i have known women who have done this and still can not find a way to live with it.if we do not want children, the logical thing to do is,make sure that you do not get pregnant,it is simple. And in the case of rape, you have to keep in mind that it is not the child,s fault,if you can find a way to love that child, put it up for adoption.

Every woman who is for abortion says that it is there right to choose. Exactly! They had a choice to have unprotected sex and they had a choice to not think of the consequences. And now they choose to kill their baby. That's what I think.

Absolutely no, except in special cases, but that's just for me. It is still a woman's choice, no matter what, and she can decide whatever she wants.
