You did not mention if the white spots were all over the dogs coat or just in one area. If the spots are all through the fur, look at the hairs. If they are white all the way to the skin line it is probably from a past parent. If the white is only on the tops of the hairs, you need to see a Vet for a skin test. Also check the gums in the mouth, they should be red, If they are pink or pale you need to have it checked for parasites

With out knowing where the spots are or how big, it is hard to say. Sometimes cuts and scrapes will grow back in with white hair. And I have seen demedex mange turn a dogs hair white in spots. But if it has been that way from a puppy it is probably normal coat color. It is not permissable for shows, but sometimes Rotts have a white spot on their chest or white on the tips of the toes. Any more than that and your dog is probably not purebred. Papers are pretty easy to fake, so that is not real proof. Love him for being unique and special!

depends on the breeding and what kind of dog was bred with your dogs mother.Where are the spots all over in a certain spot(s) it's very difficult to tell with what little info you gave.
