Ah, well, the origins of Spanish is Latin. The name Jesus...which did not originally have a "J"...just a corresponding "Y" ...would be the way it would have been said......yes-u-ah...rather than the pronounciation in Spanish..hey-sus.

Umm, that's a translation of Jesus's Hebrew name, Yeshua.

From what I know, it's a name derived from Yohoshua (hebrew), or Joshua(english).

call me crazy, but i think that the name jesus was probably around before there was a "spain". just taking a shot in the dark here.

yes, yes I did..... we picked Spanish names for my spanish class and the most annoying brat picked that name..... it made for some very funny moments.
