Once you have "cured" your staph infection, you will still have a normal flora (growth) of staph on your skin; everyone does. The best way to prevent a new infection is wash your hands frequently; after toileting, after using a buggy in the store; you know the drill. Carry some of that gel alcohol with you to cleanse your hands. Keep any open wounds cleaned and covered. Keep your hands away from your nose and eyes; that's a good way to pick up a multitude of bacteria. God Bless.

Some staph infections are resistant to antibiotics and are very hard if not impossible to get rid of. Staph lives on almost everyones skin, it becomes a real problem when it gets inside your body. If you think your getting a boil, go to a doctor and get something NOW! Save yourself alot of pain and possibly your life.

Yup, but there are medications that can be prescribed to kill the bacteria. If you feel an onset coming, go to your doctor as soon as you can so you can get prescribed antibiotics for the infection before it turns into an abscess. If you wait, the infection will turn into an abscess requiring it to be lanced, irrigated and packed.

Yes. It is very contagious and hard to get rid of, you could even be hospitalized if it is bad enough. Sometimes fatal
