Older teachers are more experienced. They've had time to use different teaching methods and find out what works best. I've always heard that the younger teachers were better though.

I"m guessing younger teachers are inexperienced and often have their own way of doing things. I am in university and have experienced many teachers. Many older teachers will know what works and what doesn't which can make them more effective than younger teachers that might be more naive.

I would have to say that the older teacher have experienced more with the years of teaching and do not react the same way the young teachers do when dealing with children.

While younger teachers have endless enthusiasm, older teachers seem to have endless patience... and more experience to go with it. I wouldn't make it a general rule though; teachers can be good or bad at all ages.

I am an education major and have found that college teaches you how to teach students what they need to know but it is not qable to teach you how to truely interact with studnets. You spend alot of your first years as a teacher trying to make sure you get all the teaching right and through experience you learn how to get the student interation right:)!!!

It's just like with any job. The more experience you gain, the more tricks of the trade you learn.
