i don't think so, it may cause some hair to come out and cause some damage, my guy has and has had long hair for over 20 years and its always in a tight pony tail. his hair is long thick and no sign of balding.

your hair won't get air or sun lite to be healthy. you know yrs back there was a story on the news about using the rubber bands daily beause the rubber bands would cut through the hair shaft over time and you'd lose hair but the story had it that one day the girl woke up with her pony tail laying beside her in bed !! she constantly had her hair up with rubber bands and that happened to her. it cut right through the pony tail....
