She saw something outside, but then came right to me and woofed the same woof she woofs when someone comes to the door. No one is there. Do dogs sense ghosts or something like?

she shakes her head, flapping her ears around when she has to pee. It was her "trespasser is here" bark. definitely. The thing that made me go "ack" was that she came right up to me and used the same bark, her nose to the floor as if something was there. Maybe she WAS trying to communicate.

My dog would know if there was another dog in our yard even when he was inside and couldn't see or hear the other dog.Whenever I thought he was barking at nothing,I'd look outside and 99% of the time I'd see another dog in our yard or just leaving our yard.People had to make some kind of noise for him to bark but he knew when it was a dog even when there was no noise. They can sense that I guess.

I'm no expert, but I think that dogs will bark at nothing when they are bored or when they want attention. I know that my dog will bark whenever and also when we leave the room. There is probably some pinpointed reason for why the dog will bark, but for the most part, the dogs that I know will bark when they have nothing better to do.

She probably wants you to get up and look outside, she's just trying really hard to get your attention. I supposed that dogs could sense ghosts, but there have also been cases of dogs sensing medical problems in their owners. Dogs have sensed breast cancer, heart attacks, strokes, seizures and other medical problems in their owners. Watch how you feel the next day or so and see if she continues this behavior. One dog kept using her paw to tap her owner on the chest. This kept up for several days and the owner couldn't get her to stop. At her next exam they found a lump in her breast on the side the dog was tapping. After she got treatment, the dog stopped tapping her chest.
