Well, let's start with some words from the bible:

Romans 3:23 - "for all have sinned; all fall short of God's glorious standard." (see Exodus 20 -The Ten Commandments)

Romans 5:8 - "But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners." (see John 3:16)

Romans 6:23 - "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord."

Romans 10:9-10 - "For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. [10] For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved."

Romans 10:13 - For "Anyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

Mathew 7:7 - "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you."

Mathew 7:24 - "Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock"

Amen.

Do they recognize their sin or do they boast of their goodness?

Are they humbled by the gift, the sacrifice to pay the price for there sin? (Jesus' death on the cross)

Do they walk the talk?

Are they a doer of the word or hearer only?

Does there life bear good fruit?

Do they share the good news with others?

Only God knows the true condition of a person's heart, but the bible makes it pretty clear. Ultimately, we must examine our own hearts and when our hearts are right with God he will lead us and guide us. Where there is light, there can be no darkness.

John 3:20-21 - "For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he Who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God."

God Bless!

You don't get to make that call. Only Jesus does.

"By their fruits shall you know them," He says - which probably isn't enough to know anything about "saved" (which is for Christ alone to determine), but should tell you something about someone.

A friendly and selfless person who wouldn't hesitate for a second to stop at the roadside for a proverbial samaritan - that is a person bearing good fruit. The rest you can leave with Jesus. He's in charge of that.

As to the monstrous thing written elsewhere, that a Christian "won't participate in worldy things" - that's a sign of a pharisee, not a Christian. A Christian will be found CONSTANTLY out in the world, heeding the master's call, "The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few; so ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest." If they aren't found doing the work of Matthew 25:31-46 - feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, etc... can they really even call themselves Christians? I know there are some days I dare not...

Someone is truly saved when they are living the law, by having the nine fruits of the spirit
Galatians 5: 22-25
22) But the fruit of the Spirit is Love, Joy, Peace, Longsuffering, Gentleness, Goodness, Faith,
23) Meekness, Temperance: against such there is no law.
24) And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts
25) If we live in the spirit, let us also walk in the spirit.

Romans 3:10-23 "For all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God. .." ". . . as it is written, there is none righteous, no not one, but Christ Jesus."

First of all, do you know you are saved? That's the most important question. Whether or not someone else is "truly saved" is between him/her and their Savior, Jesus Christ. If they say they're saved, that they know Jesus Christ as their Savior, and that there is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved, then you should not question their salvation.

However, if you hear them or seem them doing things that would lead you to believe they are not saved, maybe they just need a mentor or someone to help them get on the right track. Being a Christian has never been an easy road. The world will hate us, despise us, persecute us, and try at every turn to make us stumble. Peer pressure, teens and adults alike, is one of the greatest stumbling blocks.

Stay in the Word of God, Pray every day, and know that "God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we
were yet sinners, Christ died for us." [Romans 5:8] Ask God to send someone to this person. But first make your life an example: "Let your light so shine before men

We will sin every day because we're human. But we have a good and faithful Lord who will forgive us if we truly stop what we're doing, ask for forgiveness, then turn away ---walk away---run away---just get away--from whoever, or whatever is being a stumbling block to our faith.

Nothing can pluck us from our Father's hand. Once you're saved, you're always saved. But we can all "fall short of the glory of God." Sometimes we just need a Brother or Sister in Christ to love us enough to say,

"Hey, what are you doing? You're my Family in Christ and what you're doing [or what you're saying] is a reflection on my family too. What's up with this? Is something wrong? Can I help?"

Romans 8:28 reads:
"For all things work to the good for those who love God and are the called according to his purpose."

ALL things! Even those that are bad at first----God can make them work for the good in our lives.

Never question someone else's salvation. Only be very confident of your own salvation and question whether or not you're being a good witness of your own salvation so that others will not stumble from your example. "Let your light so shine before men."

I have the scriptures for you at the bottom. I appreciate and am happy that you are concerned about someone's salvation. "Greater love hath no man than this: Than to lay down his life for a friend."

You're on the right track! Stay in the Word, and your words will be true, strong, and compassionate.

You don't know, see some people think that once saved always saved...AH NO!...Read the following scriptures PRAYERFULLY, asking for enlightenment from God through his son Jesus.
Jude5,
Matt.24:13
Phil,2:12
Heb. 10:26,27

All of those scriptures show that once saved always saved isn't true, you and I must keep working out our own salvation.

Next, Is anything more than faith needed to gain salvation???
Consider Faith with out works is dead!

Eph.2:8,9 We cannot gain salvation on our own
Heb.5:9 Jesus is the source of salvation, Obedience simply demonstrates that the faith is genuine
Jas.2:14,26 Faith apart from works is dead
Acts 16:30,31
So if you feel you are saved I am happy to know that, It tells me you believe in Jesus. But what was the work that Jesus assigned his followers to do? It was to tell others about the establishment of his Kingdom? and what it will mean to the world. DAN 2:44 Also what conditions will there be here on the earth under that heavenly government? (PS.37:11;REV,21:3'4)
That is probable way more than you wanted to know, sorry...Let me just end with READ YOUR BIBLE DAILY!!!

When you are still breathing after Armageddon, the 1,000 year Reign, the loosing of Satan,(who was imprisoned during the 1,000 year Reign), the final testing, and the second death.
If you are alive after all of these events, you are definitely saved.
But, can still rebel even then, and at the moment of your decision to rebel, be immediately destroyed.
Oh, and by the way, saying a person is or isn't saved is a form of judging. Seems the general consesus of most of you people, is that judging is the worst thing ever, seeing as so many are quick to judge " you shouldn't be judging". Sorry about my sidepoint.

You can really only know if you are "saved" which is a personal thing between you and God. And -no- you do not have to be Christian to be "saved." As for if someone else is saved, it's not your problem or your business. Let them be.

They will dress, talk and act different then the world. They won't participate in worldy things. They will put Jesus first in everything.
Yes, a person can know for sure if someone is a Christian. And yes, Christians can know for sure if they are saved. The Bible is very clear on these assurances. Too many verses to name.

Well, it's hard to tell sometimes. But it's not for you to figure out, talk about God with them and help them develop a relationship with God. There are a lot of "Christians" that just use the title and have no commitment to what it means, so be careful. Try not to judge and enjoy building the friendship. Love them anyway.

A christian is saved by his faith.

Faith is shown by their works (basically, what they do and how they act).

Usually, someone who has the Spirit of the Lord usually acts in a spirit of thankfulness. It's fun being around people who don't complain, who're humble, and generally always giving thanks.

As for knowing if you yourself is saved, well, it's not oo hard. Just ask for forgiveness from God and repent from your sins. God's just waiting for you to talk with him.
