Maybe you have a good Lutheran congregation in your neighborhood.

Lutheranism is a very accepting branch of Christianity. The main focus is the "Golden Rule" or "11th Commandment", "Love one another as I have loved you." there are no exceptions, it means all. Everyone. Now, as with any religion, you will find some people who are more open, accepting and loving and others who are selfish and self righteous, and there are even factions within Lutheranism that are more traditional and closed than others.

Personally, I think all Christians should be able to (and are capable of) be identified as such by their actions, regardless of denomination.

I know a lot of Lutherans that don't seem christian at all and some that do, but that doesn't mean that one group is going to heaven and the other isn't, that's not my decision anyway.

I don't know about all Lutherans, but I have two friend who are Lutherans and their church is all about serving others - they don't have a fancy building because they give the money they collect to various places in the community to help people. They raise money for people who are sick, they help homeless people, and all sorts of good things. Their church is the only church I've ever been in that feels like God is present.

i am a lutheran i don't really think we are any better than other Christian churches. i do know that most of the money we collect goes to helping the needy around our city and the needy in our congregation. we do embrace everything that God gives us to help others and we have fun doing it. and a lot of it depends on the church group. i've been to different lutheran churches and some are actually better than others

How are they MORE Christian?

I think that unless you believe in Jesus' TOTAL work of the cross (fulfilling the law, eliminating sin, fulfilling revelations, saving the world) then you are not really a Christian at all. You think He was not good enough or strong enough to do that then, so you are a non believer.
