What if your Mother was that teacher.....would you want a student to treat her badly because they don't like her? Very few teachers are mean, and if there is one that is.. the student should be smart and get thier parents involved. Trying to cause the teacher trouble is like digging your own grave and only shows that you are a child in need of attention.

Teachers deal with children who are not respectful daily. Their job is to educate them, but there are a multitude of other tasks involved that have little to do with actual teaching. Teachers have little time and much pressure put on them from supervisors, parents and students. They are paid little. You don't have to like or even admire a teacher, but respect is simple courtesy.

Because you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar.
Because in every situation in life you will have to deal with people you don't like and unless you are independently wealthy and perfectly ok with being by yourself all the time and so on and so forth, you are going to have to learn to handle people you aren't especially fond of with finesse and grace. Why not hone these skills early on? It'll be to the student's benefit and the teacher(s) will recognize maturity and likely soften their view of the little brat.

What goes around comes around and you never know when someone you previously disliked may be someone you have to work for or rely on in the future. Keep your enemies guessing and pick the higher road. The best revenge is to live well and to be cool and classy. Being cool and classy will get you out of alot of jams in the future. No one said you have to like everyone but you must go along to get along and remain civil-it makes you the better person always. God is aware of those unkind people-don't be one of them.

I'm a teacher, and I know that we cannot like everybody. It really is quite impossible, isn't it? Can everyone like disco? Can everyone like opera? Can everyone like reality TV? Can everyone like football? Can everyone like The Jewelry channel? Can everyone like Raffi? Can everyone like Howard Stern? Can everyone like a teacher who beats a dead horse? Can parents like number two diapers? Of course not. However, being "nice" is an effective tool to persevere in our quest to eventually come across something or someone we do like. Maybe while we are being nice, it will give the class clown an opportunity to work some magic.....and we all like that.

You never know when you may need the help of that teacher again. You might not like them now, you don't have to. Be respectful and courteous. You might see them again in the future. You might end up being one point away and begging....

If the student wants a good grade, they should be nice even if they don't mean it. It's how I got such good grades in high school.

There's ALWAYS going to be people we don't like. But teachers do have authority over us, so we must respect them, even though we don't like them. It's only if they're molesting us or something physically harmful to us, or calling us names, then we DON'T have to be respectful then.

We are nice to people we don't like so that society may run smoother. If you were nasty to those you didn't like, there would be a lot more fighting and bad feelings. We've progressed beyond that!
