The Bible says by their fruits you will know them. (in other words how they live and what service to others do they do)

Your (christian) spirit will bear witness with them and you will know. (that is if you are filled with the Holy Spirit, then He will reveal others to you of what they are.)

With a lot of prayer and asking God.

You don't really need proof. Why should you demand proof? To me, the proof is in what they do. It's not something you "need to know" if someone is Christian or not. Check your other question for my answer if you'd like. It's pretty much the same.

John 13:34 I am giving YOU a new commandment, that YOU love one another; just as I have loved YOU, that YOU also love one another. 35 By this all will know that YOU are my disciples, if YOU have love among yourselves.”
They will not kill one another in wars, and they truly love one another!

Matthew 7:15 “Be on the watch for the false prophets that come to YOU in sheep’s covering, but inside they are ravenous wolves. 16 By their fruits YOU will recognize them. Never do people gather grapes from thorns or figs from thistles, do they? 17 Likewise every good tree produces fine fruit, but every rotten tree produces worthless fruit; 18 a good tree cannot bear worthless fruit, neither can a rotten tree produce fine fruit. 19 Every tree not producing fine fruit gets cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Really, then, by their fruits YOU will recognize those [men]
Luke 6:43 “For there is not a fine tree producing rotten fruit; again there is not a rotten tree producing fine fruit. 44 For each tree is known by its own fruit.

You will know them by the way they live their daily lives, a true Christian is a Christian 24/7, not just on Sunday!

You can not prove that someone is a Christain......but you can prove that they are not a Christian..A Christian understands there salvation...We are saved from our sins by Christ who was God in the flesh that paid the penalty of death for our sins...All Christians believe this therr are some who call themselves Christian that do not have this understanding...but without Christ paying the penalty of sin we have no salvation......No one comes to the father except through the son. This is the teachings and the the gospel of Jesus Christ those that teach Jesus and do not teach this are teaching a false religion.

God is the only one who has "proof" that someone is a Christian. So you would have to ask Him....

Are they the best person they can be? Do they help others as much as they can?

A chrome fish doesn't cut it and if they have to tell you they are a Christian count the good silver before they go.

You dont and cant scripture is very specific on the fact that a man cannot know the heart of another.
now what You can do and God say's were to do with all is determine what fruit they produce.
that is a way to discern them truly.
and as paul said a wise man tests all things including pastors and leaders.

If you are a Christian as well, you would need to accept their word and have faith. It's up to God to judge their heart. The other person's actions and words will eventually show you their heart as well.

Blessings!

What are you, the devil?

That is what satan tried to tempt Jesus with. Prove to me who you are.

I cannot even answer if I am Christian or not. I believe in Jesus, but maybe I don't believe everything about Him. And I certainly do not believe in Him the way the church has taught.

Ask them. Do you need more proof than that?
