Nice, but it's not always the easiest choice! The best thing is to be as sweet as pie, but still be lethal. This is also known as killing them with kindness and southern women have raised it to an art form, as the following joke illustrates:

A young woman was getting married to the man of her dreams and she was determined that everything would go perfectly. Nothing was going to ruin her big day, not even her parents recent messy divorce or the fact that her father insisted on bringing his new young wife to the wedding. She was very troubled to learn, though, that her father's new wife insisted on wearing the same dress as her mother. She called her father's new wife and asked her to reconsider.

"No way!" she replied. "I look like a million bucks in this dress."

No amount of pleading would make her change her mind. Reluctantly, the woman called her mother and explained the dilemma.

"Never mind, sweetheart" her mother replied. "I'll get a new dress tomorrow." The woman and her mother made plans to shop and have lunch the next day.

The next day, mother and daughter went shopping, found another nice dress, and had a very pleasant lunch together. Toward the end of lunch, the daughter remarked that her mother should probably return the first dress she bought while they were out.

"Don't be silly, dear." her mother replied. "I'll just wear that one to the rehearsal dinner."

It's a matter of situations, surroundings and tastes. Not all people deserved to be nice with. Not all people are mean to be mean with. Being practical, no one being angel on this earth, you will be nice with your friends and families and to the persons who are nice with you - that's a rarity these days. You will be mean with the ones for whom you doesn't care and they deserved to be mean with. See their are crocodiles out there to tear you apart and you need to be on guard. So don't let anybody take advantage of your nicety.

To end, it's always good to be nice when you are not sure. Be mean only when you are dead sure that you need to be.

It's better to be nice. I usually avoid mean people, because I don't want to have much to do with them. If you're mean, people will just dislike you and avoid you all the time.
