Cats normally sleep for 20 hours a day! Yeah, good deal if you can get it, huh!! So lazy is their normal speed. You can get some toys and see if she'll play with you, but keep in mind that some cats won't.
Try the "fishing pole" type toy, they love that, or she might chase a laser lite or one of those remote control mice. Try catnip, some cats like it, some are to lazy to give it a sniff. Good Luck

All cats appear to be lazy. Some sleep more than others. None will play for long. However, getting cat toys for them to play with and sometimes giving them cat nip will help keep them healthy and more lively.
Look for a treat they like too, will help a lot.

Cats tend to lay around once they get past 8 months old. Now they will get active after that age ,but it won't last long . I tried catnip but my cat walked away.
Which I would not have bought it but it was real cheap . I think we just get used to them being playful.
When they grow up they like to sleep allot and sit in the windows. Well , that's about it.
Your cat is just being normal.

I have a 10 year old cat--last year she started acting a little distant and lethargic..So, took her into her vet to get a quick check up..Because of her age and that she's spaded, she now needs to take 1/4 tab of hormones for kitties..LOL..It has made a vast improvement in her demenor and loaded her up with energy..Talking to her vet is probably the best idea..Hope this helped...

Try to get a cat to do anything it does not want to and you will be more successful than any cat owner on here.

Your cat needs a playmate. Get another cat. It made a big difference for my first cat when we got a younger cat for her to play with.

ROFLMAO! What exactly is it that you expect kitty to do? Chores? Still clutching my tummy, cracking up!
(Standing here, squaring off with ya') You got a problem with that? LOL!
That was on kitty's resume when you hired kitty. They are naturally lazy because you probably spoil the crap out of kitty! LOL! Yeah, yeah, that's it! I'm going to blame you for kitty's laziness! ROTFLMAO!

Cats are designed by nature to be lazy. They are predators and they conserve energy, especially adults, just in case hunting is bad. Its instinct. Just don't overfeed her.

define lazy? cats sleep a large portion of the day and can oftentimes be active when you are sleeping. perhaps you should try playing with her. or if you can't get a toy that she can play with herself.

Get interactive toys for them. Strings, balls etc. and PLAY with the cat. Some(most) cats do not play by themselves you need to interact with your cat.
