You have a very good point, and I completely agree with you on this topic. If we try and force out beliefs down their throats we are no better than "the Bible thumper's". Religion is a group of people believing in the same thing, and faith is your own personal belief in something. That's how I see it, and I try not to debunk any ones beliefs, but I will admit there are times where I am really tempted to try. Yet it is still wrong to say that some ones religion is right and some one elses is not.
Blessed Be.

Hmm, being a Christian myself, this answer is for the first person. I totally agree that many Christians can be overbearing and unapproachable. But take a step out of the situation and look at it from this standpoint...
If you found something that made 100% complete sense to you (regardless of what it was) and filled you with hope, joy, love, etc...if this one thing made you feel so wonderful and took away your worries and fears, if it healed you of a broken heart or a broken back, if it benefited you in even the smallest way....would you not want to share it?
Yes, many people share it in a way that is counterproductive, but only because they feel so anxious when someone rejects it, rejects something that they love, that makes sense to them, that helps them.
Overall, people on a whole, are sharing people...they share baby pictures, horrible events, restaurants that have great food or bad service. On a whole, people want to impart what they know as truth in hopes that it helps the other person from either making the same mistake they did by buying a used car from Joe's Corner Lot or benefits the other person in the way they were benefited by investing in great stock.
But you know why they fail? Cuz they're humans. They're stupid and selfish and bossy and overbearing and imperfect and annoying (just like PETA or tree-huggers or anyone with a passion). But they just want to share what they know will judge their heart, not their humanistic, ridiclously wrong actions.

'Get mad at them' is a bit strong,
'Frustrated' is perhaps a better description.
And why?
Mainly (speaking just for myself) because I think they are all a bunch of self righteous two faced , hypocritical, thick (as in stupid) individuals.
They 'pop up' in just about every category on this forum and insist on giving us reams of quotes from their fairy tale books, in a vain attempt to turn us into religious 'druggies' They feel they have a God given right to pontificate to us 'unworthies' while at the same time they really know nothing about their own religion!!
There I feel a lot better now!
I know, as you say they are not intentionally bad people (you should look into joining the diplomatic corp) !
But they really really get 'right up my nose' ! And your 'love them is a few steps too far for me, whether you join the diplomatic corp or not!!
Hope this helps??
It's helped me a bit just sitting here fuming and getting it off my chest!!

Christians think that they are better than non-christians and its really annoying. Even more annoying is when you already have a religion but the christians will still try and convert you. They think just because they have thier religion they are better and are do the rest of the world a favor by trying to convert people.

I think alot of it has to do with the approach. Arguing with somebody about something as important as religion never gets you anywhere. Its a hot button with most people. Most people know that I am a Christian but I don't "force" my beliefs on anybody. Sometimes I might say something but its never meant to guilt trip somebody into joining me in my choice. Its a huge part of my life so Im going to talk about it some. I'm not preachy. We're not supposed to judge and I don't think people are lesser than me because they don't believe what I believe in. Its all a matter of choice in what you believe in. I am happy with what I believe in.

I get mad because Christians expect u to listen patiently 2 their views and accept their opinions but as soon as someone has an opposing opinion they start screaming about how ur the work of the devil and ur ignorant and in the dark! It get annoying when people aren't willing to listen. I also think it works both ways non-Christians don't wanna listen either, we're all way to angry :-)!

I am a Muslim an we don't get mad at all of Christians. its all propaganda, most of the time, because we have lot of christian live among us and our close friend are Christians. but what made me mad is what are they doing in Africa by taking advantage of the poor to convert them. by the way do not believe every thing u see in the TV and differentiate between governments and people

It would be immoral *not* to tell them they're wrong - We'd be doing Christians a disservice if we didn't try to show them why their beliefs are unjustified. After all, the ones who are successfully 'de-programmed'* will be grateful to us afterwards.
* 'de-programmed' - a very apt phrase I saw used recently by a Muslim who was worried about Muslim children in the UK receiving an enlightened education instead of being brainwashed by Islamic teachers.

because if they had the ability and legal right to, they would force you to become one of them, even if it killed you...literally...they'd be doing it to "save you" , and that would be enough justification in their mindset...the crusades, inquisition, manifest destiny, destruction/disregard of indeginous culture, intolerance- all come to mind...personally i'm always a bit defensive, although respectful of their beliefs, however recipricocity is rare. I'm good friends with some christians, but broach the subject altogether, to remain so- on their account, not mine.... it also doesn't hurt that the "Glory of Christ's Return", and the "End of Days" when they "go home to the lord" is the happiest day they can imagine- knowing that for everyone else, who may otherwise be good people, that day will literally be "hell on earth". ... be warned, history has a way of repeating itself... to me , it's just as freaky and mythic as scientology...

Hmm, you are correct....when I bite back after they bit me, I am no better than they are. That is partly why I stay out of the insulting game that all sides get into at times....no matter who it is who gets into it. I let it go---it isn't worth it for me anymore....I find it a bit emotionally draining. :-(
The consequences of getting into the insulting act are greater than I am willing to deal with.
