Only military members that have served in OIF and/or OEF, please. If you don't mind (so I can see where these answers are coming from) could you also mention what branch you were in? Thanks

By the way, I also served my time out there, but I did want to extend my appreciation to all of you that also served.

I would like to choose all of the answers as best answers. With all the constant negative press and negative opinions, I wanted to see if feelings of veterans who served were similar as mine. Thank you everyone for all your input.

I served during the push toward Baghdad and I am very happy with how it is going. How many chances do you get to participate in creating a democracy? One which, even with the violence, has higher voter turn-out than we have here?

I support the US invovlement and conduct of the US military in both OEF and OIF. I am have been over here twice now (although not to what I would consider "dangerous" countries) and would be more than willing to serve wherever I am needed. I don't think the media does a good job of covering the achievements of the US in Iraq, although not having been there myself I am judging from talks with other troops on their experiences.

I was there for OIF II. I saw the vast difference (for the better) that occurred during the time I was there.

Too bad the news media gives such a negative and distorted view of the war.

I think the military is doing the best job that it can. The media only depict the deaths and downsides of war. Which is not the whole story. We've do alot of good too, and the job isn't done. The overall situation has improved but it's going to take alot of time to turn around a society so used to violence. Freedom isn't free, it's priceless.

LIBERAL MEDIA...remeber this when viewing news coverage of Iraq...we are doing our best and doing a tremendous job..casualties are light, I know that is of no help to the families of the fallen...I think everything is going just fine.
