I am gluten sensitive. Are there any celiacs out there who know if Soybean (or soybean oils and derivitves) are safe for our condition? Thanks

Hi. I am a celiac patient. Gluten/gliadins are found in wheat, rye and barley. Oats do not naturally contain gluten, however they are often shipped, stored, and/or processed with wheat, etc.; consequently, they can be contaminated with gluten.

Soy does not naturally contain gluten. If it is not shipped, stored, or processed with wheat, rye or barley, then it should be fine. The problem, obviously, is you have no way of knowing how it is shipped, stored or processed. Therefore, it may be best to look for soy products that clearly state 'gluten free' on the package. But, overall, soy is most likely safe for you.

Best wishes and good luck.

gluten is a product or rather a by product form wheat. Wheat is the only grain I know of containing gluten. Gluten is required to allow the yeast to expand and cause the dough to rise properly in bread making
