When I'm not doing something, or doing little tasks that require little effort I start to feel jittery and nervous. I always want to be busy.

Your anxiety is similar to mine. I get that way when i sit still, when i get a massage, any time i try to relax. It's as if i am always on guard even though i know nothing bad is going to happen. The problem with always being busy is it can take a toll on you physically. If you can slowly allow yourself to experience being still, even small amounts of time, just five minutes and feel the jittery feeling and see that it won't hurt you, you will be able to feel bored and not feel anxiety at the same time.

Oh yes! I get that way, too.

I think some of it is ADHD symptoms and some of it is just the need to feel like I'm being productive and not wasting my life away.

I'm trying to learn to live in the moment- and not worrying about tomorrow, not comparing myself to others- etc. Those are the things that create anxiety in us.

It would be interesting to hear other's perspective on this-

People with ADHD get this exact same feeling. Anything even slightly boring makes them really antsy and restless.

They can need a lot of mental stimulation in order to feel comfortable.

Just a thought is all.
