enlightenment-
On February 2, 1848, The Treaty of Guadeloupe Hidalgo was SIGNED, later to be ratified by BOTH the U.S. and Mexican Congresses. The TREATY called for the annexation of the northern portions of Mexico to the United States. In return, the U.S. agreed to PAY $15 MILLIONn to Mexico as COMPENSATON for the SEIZED territory. The bravery of the individual Mexican soldier goes a long way in explaining the difficulty the U.S. had in prosecuting the war. Mexican military leadership was often lacking, at least when compared to the American leadership. And in many of the battles, the superior cannon of the U.S. artillery divisions and the innovative tactics of their officers turned the tide against the Mexicans. The war COST the United States OVER $100 million, and ended the lives of 13,780 U.S. military personnel. America had defeated its weaker and somewhat disorganized southern neighbor, but not without paying a terrible price.

If the USA is such an awful country, the door swings "out" easier than it swings "in". You're welcome to leave anytime.

we don't ignore our culture,we embrace it and we accept some changes from over 150 years ago as HISTORY. We don't live terrible lives by assimilating with the white man, it's a good life or you illegal immigrants wouldn't be clamoring for it so bad. "Why cook, when you can go next door and get a smorgasbord", though, right? It's the lazy man's way out. Illegal immigrants are wrong and they know it but they can't let go and go back home.

No, and for a good reason.
I was amazed the day they all walked off the job. Wow, my day was so easy that day.
Anyway, I couldn't believe my eyes. People in the country of Mexico were protesting for the immigrants and wanted so many more to go, and I though what a weird sense of national pride.
Then I found out the truth. La Reconquista. This isn't an immigration issue, it's a home security, citizenship, and colonization issue. When some come over, it's immigration. When tens of millions are sent by their government to reclaim land back to Mexico, that's a colonist invasion.
They want as many Mexicans up here as fast as possible. Even in Califonia they say diversity will end and only one ethnicity will remain in 20 years.
The time to act is now.

Undocumented immigrants are forced to come to the U.S. by poverty, and taller fences and more border guards won’t stop them.
Mexicans didn't cross the border, the border crossed them. That is just a historical fact--much of the Western U.S. was once part of Mexico.
The U.S. seized half of Mexico--including Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California--in the Mexican-American war of 1846-48. The war cost almost 14,000 U.S. and twice as many Mexican lives. N. Americans can't face thier history and lie to themselves about what thier country is and what it is all about on an ethical level.
Critics of the invasion, like congressman Joshua R. Giddings, rightly called it “a war against an unoffending people...for the purpose of conquest; with a design of extending slavery...I will not bathe my hands in the blood of the people of Mexico.”
Ulysses S. Grant, who fought in the war, called it “one of the most unjust ever waged on a weaker country by a stronger.”
Your rude and ignorant comments are just one more small link in the history of injustice towards Mexican people. You ignore your past and have no culture, others treasure thier heritage and are too proud to stoop to such low levels intellectually.

They answered. They admitted they are lazy and won't fight to make their country better. Our men and women had the initiative to fight wars to build this country to what it is today. Those illegal immigrants possess none of those quality traits. I would be ashamed if I were Mexican, or the nationality of any country I was not willing to stand up and fight for. We fought for this country and we will not give it away to thieves and criminals. We are a proud and strong people.

Ha! that's the first non racist question regarding this issue that actually makes sense, that I've seen on here. But they are not all from Mexico. Just say Central and South America. And the Islands.
