You may need a security clearance or military experiences but go to halliburton.com and search through the KBR careers. You'll find a bunch of openings. They also do job fairs in Houston, but you'd have to check for dates.

80 grand a year of what you make is tax free. My buddies a firefighter and making 90 grand a year. I met a guy up there that was communications and was making 6 figures (pretty much because if they didn't offer that much, the folks could get decent jobs in the states as it is). Good luck

Well, anymore people aren't making as much as they used to be. Most of those jobs that pay 100 grand a year are specialized like firemen, or security contractors.

However, companies like KBR or Toifor are still heavily recruiting. KBR is part of Halliburton and it should not be difficult for you to find them online. They both have their respective websites.

Listen, this is important. It is not as life threatening as these guys make it sound. With these companies you have plenty of options for working strictly on base. In fact, almost all contracts are base oriented. I would try to get one with Al Asad, nothing much happens there compared with Ramadi. You could end up being a carpenter or a just a truck driver for on base services. You have A LOT of options. You will be just fine if you go.

You contact yourself and ask "why the hell would I want to go to Iraq to risk my life for a thousands of dollars?" You can't spend it if you're dead.

A friend of mine wanted to volunteer to go over there to help with clean up efforts, but what you need to know is that you will not be protected by the US armed forces if you go as a civilian. Just like when missionaries go to other countries to "spread the good word" - you're on your own.

There's actually a website called Jobs in Iraq, or similar. Just Google "jobs iraq" and you'll find links. It's a start, at least.

Yes, I was tempted, I guess - but there's no way I could worry my family like that. Besides, with my luck, I wouldn't chance it.
