inflation of gums means gum disease and gingevitis. ive had it and its not great and if you leave it unchecked it will mean u have to have bone replacement therapy and whole heap of other stuff. so one helpful tip, no matter how much it hurts and bleeds continue to brush that area until it stops bleeding. i did that and i havent had it since. just make sure u brush every day afterwards or it will b for nothing.

Sometimes when you don't brush your teeth enough your gums start getting puffy & red. They are telling you that you need to brush more. If you do have slightly poor oral hygiene, you should brush until your gums bleed, later look to see this if they stop being red & puffy. Sounds like an oxymoroan, but it works.

I'm a dental hygienist and my recomendation is that you see your dentist. It may be as simple as gingivitis or advanced periodontal disease. Don't second guess it... check it out!!

drink fluids and don't poke with a toothpick, or play with it with your tongue, it is usually caused from food being in between teeth
