How would you design a mars civilizations government? Who
would be in charge of what and how? In order to be safe and sane,
a better political system than we now have would be advisable. What kinds of improvements does our government need? What have modern sociology and civil engineering added to the wisdom of the founding fathers?

"I believe we can never design a perfect government, "

I agree, but that shouldn't stop us from trying.

Participatory democracy. Not a representative democracy.

Look at the stock market. We vote with our money for the companies we own stock in. Do badly, we vote you down, do well we vote you up. And we do it OFTEN and we keep track of what is GOING ON. We don't just tell our brokers to do what they think best. WE DO IT OURSELVES.
Clearly the technology is available. If you can do it for your investments why can't you do it for your government?

PS: I wish I had all the answers for you.. its a work in progress, but like I said, if you used a system like the stock market then it has some chance of success. How do prevent rigging, oligarcy etc, same way you prevent that in the stock market. It is probably not fool proof and like I said I don't have all the answers. However complete transparency may be a way to end all of these evils. If you knew people can see what you are doing would you still do it?

I believe we can never design a perfect government, however a democracy that is actually practiced the way we are taught, would be a great step forward. Now when we the people try to participate in the political game it is thought in political circles to be a crises of democracy.

I would make sure everyone spoke the same language and have the same political motive. If someone wanted to do there own thing, they couldn't participate. Before something got enacted, the people, you and me would really have a voice in it.
