his true birth name given to him by his culture (parents) was joshua ibn joesph. which is to say joshua joseph's son. all the jesus the christ came after his death.
the above answer is spelled according to the hebrew of the day the name of god which we call jehova was actually yod he vau he or yehovhe later described and pronounced jehova just as ye hes ua is now known as joshua.

Look at Matthew 1:21;1:23. Also in my bible it says Jesus means "the Lord saves". Jesus came to earth to save us because we can't save ourselves from sin and its consequences.

I believe when Jesus was born, He was called EMMANUEL, meaning "God with us". When He died He probably would have been referred to in Hebrew by another word that means, "God has left us".
