Honestly, we first get attracted physically. Then we look for who she is inside. THen we either like the girl or not.
If at first we don't get attracted physically, then no matter how nice she is inside... it's not going to be more than friends.
Guys may date beautiful girls without personalities but we don't really love those girls. We just like them for our own selfish needs.
That's my honest, simple, succint answer.

To be honest, it is a little of both. While I always look at beautiful women before I notice "plain" women (pardon the expression), most beauties have very undesirable personalities. And not all "plain" women are plain. Some are physically attractive in an understated way and if they have the personality that I find appealing, then I am attracted. But it isn't an "across the board" personality type that applies to all women. It still comes down to many factors that are too numerous to get into here.

Can you really separate the two? a person wears their life on their face, if they are grumpy, they will look grumpy. if they are happy, they will look happy, we find happy people more attractive than grumpy people. if they are lazy, they will show that in their physique. over time, I would choose someone for how they are inside. as a person ages (women especially) the looks fade and you have nothing to keep a persons interest if looks was your motivation to begin with. it's also harder to attract people with your looks when you get older, they mature and find that looks are only a little part of the package. you being the person that has operated their entire life attracting a partner based on your looks are suddenly without skills and look like a fool in the process.

The first thing that attracts are looks. That is natural and biological. We are programmed to look for mates that will enhance our gene pool by nature. That is why everyone has different preferences to the physical characteristics that attract us. As you get to know a person, then the inner beauty or ugliness tends to surface to where that person becomes unattactive or the love of our life. Think of your most recent ex that ended badly. At first, this person was probably very attractive, but as you got to know them, their inner ugliness tainted the initial view of their attractiveness. We are just animals.

At first the outside is very important, but once you actually get to meet them even if the outside looks good if she is cold hearted and ill tempered it is a complete turn off!

Guys don't like overweight girls, no matter how "beautiful" they are inside. An average girl who keeps herself in good shape can get a guy if she's got a good attitude. Superhot girls get lots of physical love, but if they are *itches, guys move on once they've had their fun. In the end, just be a good person and keep yourself in good shape and you'll find a guy.

OK, let's look at this for what it really is...first, looks are what get your attention...can't run from that. After you have their attention, then, you have to impress them with you Smarts..or in case of a lady, wear them down. Now, not all of us were born with the "looks", so we have to give it some help...that's where the implants and face lifts come into play...but, it only gets their attention, then you have to prove your self...so, don't work on just the looks, you have to have something else to bring to the table.

both the outside catches your eye then you get to know the inside. but i really don't care as ling as she can keep track of the random conversations and doesn't casue the dogs to run away.
