Some people like to put down things/people they don't understand. I think some folks get off on pushing other people's buttons, too.

People who talk down the Lord may believe in Him without KNOWING Him.
They have not faced difficult times in pure FAITH, or learned the neat trick of speaking in FAITH.

Everyone believes in God in some way, but they may not know Him if they haven't read Daniel or the NewTestament.
Too many people don't understand that if they do wrong, that they ARE NOT locked into being stuck with that sin on their back, if they ask for His forgiveness, and do not repeat their goof.
That is what Christ came to tell us!

It is possible to tell when a person believes in Christ's teaching, and that is when they are BRAVE enough to be kind and gentle.

Any coward can be mean. A truly brave person sacrifices the urge to retalliate, and slash back when they get hurt, and instead they try to remain calm and orderly.
It takes the good knowledge that Christ taught to understand that those that do mean and or evil things are terribly unhappy inside, and they want others to be unhappy too to keep them company.
They are afraid to be kind...it scares them...they are cowardly.
I'm sorry if this hurts any reader...
but it only takes conviction to begin to practice kindness...and it catches on really easy...but it DOES require bravery.
So for them, it is easier to scoff at God, because they don't understand Love.

For every reader, I wish you love

Look, I know you may be a big believer, but what is created by people and made for people, will lose its fire. God was designed to give hope to those that have nothing, and or need an excuse.

This means that god is an imaginary friend for adults and jesus was the very first politician that fought for the little people.

It's an argument on both sides...Christians Antagonize people to answer with smart *** comments because people know no matter what Christians will never look at something with an open minded view..they just believe what ever they are told...so it becomes and Argument on both sides..People who don't believe in God also piss me off in that they try to get a response out of Religious people because they feel like they have something to prove..its really annoying

They are young. And in all actuality I think that a large majority do speak of God and Jesus. It's just that we remember the negative far more than the positive.

I don't know why, but I do know this through God - given faith, not faith that I created:

1) We are all born into sin;
Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me. Psalm 51:5
I know that nothing good lives in me, that is in my sinful nature. Romans 7:18

2) God has given us the gift of salvation through belief in Christ;
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is Eternal Life in Christ Jesus, our Lord. Romans 6:23
Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved. Acts 16:31

Christ died and rose victoriously that ALL might be saved, including those who disparage God and him. All it takes is belief that God is so loving that he would allow his own son to be sacrificed for the whole of mankind. The great thing is that this faith is nothing that you, I or anyone has any power to create but it is the gift of God.

Likely because there's alot of religous people on yahoo answers. I don't believe in any religion.....I need facts not blind faith. But I don't speak badly about it, nor anyone who does believe in it.

Personally, as stated up there, I need real facts and not a book that's been written and re-written over hundreds of years through 1000's of people from several different languages. That's too much faith for me. But I'm not necessarly an athiest because.....oh it's too much to write. People who 'bash' god and that may just be in a pissy mood. I don't blame or 'bash' people who do believe in it - to each his own.......or her own. peace.

I have to confess that I have done it. Sometimes I am such an idiot. I don't know how God puts up with me. I ask God's forgiveness from the bottom of my heart. Dear Lord, I pray that you give me strengh to stop sinning. I pray that you give me wisdom to guide my children and to know when I'm wrong. I pray that you teach me how to say "I'm Sorry". Thank you Dear Lord for this wonderful day. You give me so much, and I am not deserving. Thank you and praise you Dear God Almighty. Amen.

Only reason people talk bad aobut things is that they usually want to fit in, fell better about themselves or jsut plain don't know about them. It takes a strong back bone to talk about your Reigion and beliefs in front of anyone and be cool. So most of them criticize even though most of there families are religous.

Sad they are so afraid, weak and insecure. You don't see Muslims doing that now do you....
