Trust me, she probably won't do anything that isn't glamorous, and she has no money and I want her to do this with none of my help, buying beadss would be out of the question.

Why would an 11 year old sell Mary Kay?

There are quite a few Teen and Preteen kids doing offers here. Check out the forums if you would like proof of this being legitimate. I've made some extra pocket money at the site below. A lot of really easy to complete surveys that anyone qualifies for. I have made almost 200.00 in about 2 months in my free time. Let me know if you have any questions and I'd be glad to help.

Help her find additional baby sitting jobs...although 11 is young to be left alone with other children (does she babysit in your home while you are there?). Instead of an allowance, you could pay her to do various jobs and things for you (yes, I know you said you don't want it to come out of your wallet). Bottom line is that she's still quite young to be able to do much that'll make money...maybe she'll consider a more reasonably priced phone (they didn't even exist when I was 11).

Walk neighborhood dogs (or for that matter, water plants and such while people are on summer vacation).

You don't say where you live, but perhaps there is a nearby horse stable? Often, people who board their horses need assistance with feedings and exercising. She might post something there.

She could run errands for home-bound or elderly people, if the stores and such are close enough.

Pull weeds in the neighbors' yards (I know I am more than willing to pay my neighbor's kids to do this!!!). Clean their pools, blow leaves off their driveways.

Perhaps there is a bachelor in your neighborhood who could use help with things like washing dishes and/or laundry...I know one who does no chores all week, and then has a housekeeper come on Fridays...He pays her $40 a week. I know he'd be really happy to reduce this bill, if he could find someone reliable to handle a few of the reasonably simple things.

It seems there are lots of options, but if she really wants it, she'll need to get her feet on the street, and advertise her availability.

i dont no why you dont give your kid pocket money, my mum used to pay me to do extra chores around the house, i dont mean tydying my room that was compulsary but i got pocket money if i did dishes or polished or hoovered etc, she could have a garage sale and sell unwanted toys you could let her sell any of your clutter too then you would kill 2 birds with one stone, however i do think she should have a weekly allowance so long as she earns it then her behavior would improve also as she would be gaining from pleasing you. i also think 11 is too young to be babysitting!

she might be able to get more/higher paying babysitting jobs if she is CPR/First Aid certified, plus a lot of community centers offer babysitter training.

Also, a lot of newspapers will let kids and teenagers place classified ads for free, advertising: dog walking, car washing, yard work, tutoring, babysitting, garage sales, bake sales, lemonade stands, etc.

Selling lemonade. You should meet her half-way on the phone purchase since she's still so young. Allowance, even a dollar a week is always nice. My family was on welfare for a short time but us kids still got allowance.

Why did you have a kid if you can't afford to take care of her? Having a cell phone would be good in case she needed your help for an emergency.

Why don't you get her a cheaper phone or one that has pre-set minutes?

This question doesn't belong in the Non-alcoholic drink category too.

Maybe she could invest in some beads and make bracelets and sell the bracelets?? Or if she likes dogs she could start a dog walking business around the nieghborhood.

Maybe walk dogs for people? Bathe dogs... it's a fairly easy job if she only does it with small dogs or dogs she can handle easily. Cut grass? That's not much of a girls chore but if she wants that phone that bad she'd do it.

Sell items she doesn't need anymore in a garage sale or on Ebay.
