It depends on where you are in your life (do some research on Mazslow's Hierachy of Needs)
If you are out on the streets, hungry and having a hard time making ends meet...just getting by is your only focus. You need the basic things in life - food, clothing, shelter - before you are able to think about taking care of people or projects outside of yourself.
If you are well taken care of and food, clothing and shelter are not a concern... I think we feel better about ourselves... AND we make the world a better place when we get involved in MAKING the world a better place...

We ARE a part of something bigger than ourselves. That is why people like Bono and other celebrities are trying so hard to bring attention to the problems in the Sudan. I believe that one of the reasons Americans are seen as the enemy is because the rest of the world sees us as an oppulent society that cares nothing about the rest of the world. If you'll notice: the hatred against the USA has surged since the advent of the information highway. They see what we have and they want it too. Some will try to recreate what we have built; but others will just try to come over here and take it from us. Such is the human condition. We all want to be little gods. It's been that way since Adam and Eve.

That's something people have to decide for themselves. No matter what you do, people end up doing that. Your job devotes you to a large company or corporation. Having a baby is certainly larger than anything else. Just make the decisions that make you happy because it is your life.

Hmmmm good question...When the Lord God created us...he created us for fellowship...to serve one another in essence...to turn that into todays world...filled w/ sefishness and self centered people......I'd say you hit the nail on the head to say YES you need to be a part of something bigger than yourself! Each of us has been given a "God" given ability or gift...something that we "yen" to do...find that and "DO IT"...for others...My 16 yr old since 4 has loved elderly...she just got awarded something for all her benevolance w/ elderly people last week...Did my heart sooooo good....but for her...it was effortless...she had to do it...and the elderly were so blessed! Me, I help people when I can, send notes and encouraging cards, have parties for kids, teach Sunday school as a sub, asst coach for little league...find YOUR nitch ....it's there...!

This life is short and full of troubles. It is a time to accept or reject the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Christ said I am the way, the truth and the life.
The soul of man is eternal. We will spend eternity eather in Heaven or Hell based on the decission we make. We need a Savior.

When you begin to live your life being something other than yourself, then you slowly begin to brainwash yourself. You are not yourself, your miserable, and you become a walking zombie. Most people are and have no clue!!!! That's why they find it so difficult to find themselves..Then confide in something that is non-existant..
