That has never made sense to me. I think if they don't like putting up with students, they need to find their *** another damn job.

Those who Can't do...teach

No one likes to put up with unruly kids...of course. And they dont have a bad problem with students. If the students are unwilling to compromise then obviously the teacher is gonna start to get pissed. Why do students always have to talk back and be disrespectful to teachers? A teacher is not gonna yell and punish a student for no reason, the student must have pushed her to her limits in some way.

I'm a teacher and generally most of the teachers I know love or at least really like kids and enjoy teaching them. It is the parents that make the job so hard. They tend to feel very entitled, if their child is not getting good grades it is obviously the teachers fault (no fault of theirs) they then pass this attitude on to their children who parrot their parents in class. 'my mom said you don't really like kids and you don't really know how to teach' (I have actually heard a kid say this to a teacher...really how can you even pretend to like that kid?). It is an era of blaming others for your own personal problems and if kids have problems parents blame teacher and teachers blame parents...it makes an otherwise thankless job a bit fustrating...I wouldn't switch for the world though (after all the kids didn't pick their parents).

I believe teachers continue to educate our youth because they may feel if they can help educate at least a hand full of students then they are doing their job. Teachers know every student they teach will not cooperate with them and those students will be handled properly.

The same reasons parents "parent" when they have a bad problem with their kids. It takes a lot of patience to deal with students, especially problem students. Kudos to teachers. They are here to help the kids. They go through a lot to make sure that we all get the education we need to get along in this world.

Some teachers start out as nice and really want to teach their students and make a difference, but after years of low pay, parents who don't care about their child's education, and kids who frankly need to be smacked sometimes they give up and just try to muddle through it til retirement.

I think that you should spend a week trying to teach a classroom full of back-talking, smart-assed brats.

I think most teachers love kids.

I think some kids change some teachers' minds.

Besides, I think that everyone has part of their job that they don't like...If it was all fun, you wouldn't get paid for it!

What with the teachers' union running things, it's probably the most money these marginally competent people will ever see. And it's definitely the best benefits package, especially if you think about the time off every summer.

Them that can, do; them that can't, teach.

because the times they cant put up with their students are minimal to all of the great times they have teaching. the good out weigh the bad and they live for the good, except the bad, and move on.

They like the power. Makes them feel big, having someone under their almost-complete control for 6-8 hours.
