It's just the part of the chicken that's up against the ribs.

Essentially breast.

Generally it means the rib meat--the breast is included with the chicken. The rib meat--the white meat from the breast is the most expensive, prized part of the chicken and some places will remove that part and sell the rest of the chicken. If the sign says with rib meat it is letting you know that you are getting the chicken with the full breast--all the white meat--intact. Same as when you buy a ham and it says NO CENTER SLICES REMOVED, the center slices are the best and sometimes they are removed and sold separatley.

No, it is all chicken. The "rib meat" is between the breast and the back, and is not nearly as meaty and desirable as the breast meat. So the price per pound of breasts with rib meat should be lower than breasts with no rib meat.

hahahahaha!!! have you never seen a whole raw chicken? the breasts are right over the rib cage. it depends on how they cut it off. the rib meat is long and seperate from the rest of the breast.
