the cholesterol content in shrimp is quite high but there are growing reports of shrimp having high levels of pollutants in it like mercury. shrimp may be a source of food poisoning if it is not handled properly.

Shrimp, like all shellfish, can raise your cholesterol level. So your best bet is to enjoy it in moderation.

The only thing about seafood these days is the mercury. If you eat alot of pacific ocean fish... it's got more mercury in it and it's bad for you. I think moderation is best.

Not really. Unless you're allergic or you're pregnant. If you're pregnant, the doctor limits you from eating more than 12 ounces of seafood on a weekly basis.

High in the "bad" cholesterol, so my doc says. And it's a bottom feeder (shellfish) so it isn't as healthy as most fish.

If you overinduldge, yes. Anything and everything can make you sick if you eat too much of it. Plus, it's meat, which is unhealthy if you eat a lot, as well.
