The Bible says that miracles prove nothing!
Deuteronomy 13:1-3 If there arise among you
a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth
thee a sign or a wonder, 2 And the sign or
the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake
unto thee, saying, Let us go after other
gods, which thou hast not known, and let us
serve them; 3 Thou shalt not hearken unto
the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of
dreams: for the Etrnl your Gd proveth you, to
know whether ye love the Etrnl your Gd with
all your heart and with all your soul.
So, the Bible is clear, if the person says he will do a miracle, AND THEN DOES THAT MIRACLE, but his message is against what the Bible says, then dont believe him even if he did the miracle!
And if the Bible says,
Deuteronomy 24:16
every man shall be put to death for his
own sin (eesh b’chet-o yumatu)
and does miracles, STILL, dont believe him, or in him!

I beg to differ on a point of reference you made, son. I quote you - "Josephus, a Jewish Historian (a.d 38-100) and roman historian Cornelius Tacitus (a.d.55-120)are some who support new testament claims." End quote. I've just finished reading these, and NOWHERE did it say that jesus did 300 miracles. Flavius Josephus recorded some of the things that supposedly happened at the time of jesus's Crucifixion, that's about it. As for Tacitus, did he not state he saw jesus 'smitten' by one of the rocks from the 'engines'? Did you not KNOW lying is a sin, boy!??

Good point. But remember he said "the works that I do you shall do also, and even greater." We, as followers of Christ should be doing miracles. Sign and wonders should be following the believers. I have heard of great evangelists raising people from the dead. I've seen a child who was born blind, go to an evangelistic meeting held by Mark Anderson and receive his sight and another crippled person get up and walk. There are miracles happening all the time, and there will be a great many more in these last days.

The Josephus passage to which you are referring has long been proven to be a forgery. The entire story of Jesus is borrowed from pagan sources. The dying-resurrecting savior, born of a virgin in a stable or cave, performing miracles and preaching wisdom, having 12 followers, and being crucified on a cross, pole, or tree, is a VERY common motif dating to ancient Egyptian times, and they also borrowed the idea from others before them. All you need to do is go to the library and get some books on mythology, or look up the information online. Don't believe stuff just because your pastors, parents, friends, and Pat Robertson say it's true--do the research yourself and get some education on the matter.

Dude, that is SO not the way to win non-believers... why do so many VOCAL Christians think it is? *shakes head* I'm sure Jesus appreciates you bragging for him, but plenty of other people have performed miracles. You don't know how many miracles Jesus performed anyway- the Bible clearly states that they're not all recorded within its pages, nor all the acts of his Apostles. Not to diss Jesus- I love him to pieces. But you can't just say "Yeah, Jesus did miracles like nobody's business. How ya like THEM apples?!" and expect anyone to say "Geez, he's right... I wanna be Christian too!" You'll catch more flies with honey than vinegar, sugarbean... And who did miracles? Supposedly, every single saint in the Catholic church performed at least one. Several (if not all) of the Apostles healed people. Moses turned his staff into a snake. Some (but not most) evangelists have actually healed people- I know a lady who God cured of a nervous issue through a traveling minister. Peace out brother, and you Might wanna find a less agressive way to change hearts, yeah? ^_^

Here's the best way to figure out what Jesus really did. A while back I came up with this formula....
One Mild Miracle (healing a cold sore) + a group of creative followers + 300 years + a vacuum of Superheroesque religious figures +/- pi = Jesus (or equivalent)
Now the others on here will banish me to the abyss.

Every major religion had someone they claimed reached a similar level of perfection- Nirvana.
The bible was written by men who "claimed" to have heard the words of "God". I've known countless people who have "claimed" to hear voices telling them similar "truths". They carry a diagnosis of schizophrenia. Plus, did you ever played the game 'telephone' when you were a kid? How many times was the bible translated before it got to the version you've been reading?
The point is what can you learn from the bible and Jesus's teaching? Don't take things so literally, but look deeper for the understanding that helps you in this life.

You are a complete moron....Tacitus only mentions Jesus once but doesnt refer to him at all as a miracle worker. "Nero fastened the guilt and inflicted the most exquisite tortures on a class hated for their abominations, called Christians by the populace. Christus, from whom the name had its origin, suffered the extreme penalty during the reign of Tiberius at the hands of one of our procurators, Pontius Pilatus, and a most mischievous superstition, thus checked for the moment, again broke out not only in Judaea, the first source of the evil, but even in Rome." Thats all that he ever mentions about Jesus at all....Also there are many faith healers around the world who have Healed people of things. There is no proof or evidence of anything Jesus actually did...Infact gospels werent written until almost 70 years after Jesus died...plenty of time for people to embellish a story. Which as we all know happens over and over and over again throughout history...Cortez was seen as a god by the aztecs and he was even worshiped for a brief time as a god....so its all a matter of interpretation.

Yes, I have accounts of people seeing the same miracles that Jesus did (well, Majority) in The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-Day Saints. People have been risen from the dead like Lazarus, people have been cured of many diseases. Only by the power of the Holy Melchizedek Priesthood can true miracles be done.
