I seriously doubt that last statement that there will be no religion, that is if we humans are all still around on this earth. I go to Church because I want to, both to worship and pray in communion with others. As a Catholic, I believe each time the Mass is celebrated, we partake of the body and blood of Jesus Christ in the Mass here on earth and in Heaven as well with all the Angels and Saints. "Communion of Saints" is what it is referred to, we join with them in praising God, as well as all other people throughout the world everywhere the Holy Mass is offered. We all pray together as the Church bringing about the filfillment of "Thy Kingdom come...Thy will be done..on earth as it is in Heaven"

Who the heck is they! And in this day and age with all of the technology, why wouldn't anyone want to go to church???? I don't know what church you are going to or have gone to last but it's not like it used to be, at least not the good ones. I mean, how many times when you were in Junior high did you have a sleep over with 150 kids and played hide and go seek at 2:00 in the morning or set video game systems so that 20 people can play at a time or went to a rock concert at church? Church can be a blast especially for the youth of this generation and it just keeps growing....whoever "they" are needs to rethink their statements and see whats going on in Churches today...

300 years? why not 100 or 50 years? i find church is a waste of a good weekend. if you really want to get closer to the Creator try going outside or on a camping trip. Its a false dictomy to say because you arent christian you must be atheist. thats not true at all. and the BS about Pagans being atheist is lies perpetrated by the christian wrong.

Fellowship and to be fed the Word of God.

The last seven years are just around the corner 2007-2014.

Time will soon be no longer.

Rev 10:6 And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer:
Rev 10:7 But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.

It's the one place that one can find hope and refuge in such a time of uncertainty. Plus, "church" guides one to evolve deeper within their faith (not to say you can have faith with going to church). "They" are pretty arrogant to think "religion" will dissolve when it's been around for thousands of years. But then I won't care because I know where I'll be in 300 years...do you?

Jesus said He would build His Church ... Mt.16:16

Jesus died for His Church, purchasing it with His own blood ... Acts 20:28

Jesus organized local congregations, with ministers, elders, deacons, and teachers ... books of Acts, Timothy, Titus, etc.(since He is the Head ... Eph5:22-32)

We are exhorted to "not forsake the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is." ... Heb 10:24-25.

Since some were skipping services then, it shouldn't surprise us that many are also saying it's not necessay today.

Still, everybody knows that there is strength in groups. Hence we have our families, our teams, scout packs, political parties, weight watchers, etc.

Serious-minded Christians are no less personally compelled to seek out like-minded individuals to share experiences and receive encouragement.

Those who say there is no need are not seriously committed to Jesus as both Lord and Savior, nor are they seriously interested in accomplishing His work in this day and time, since He (not men)built His Church to be His body on this earth for that purpose.

Any church is run by people. Some people don't live up to the ideals. God does not depend on perfect people but can work good even with flawed folks.

To accept God does not require adherence to one denomination. Our salvation does not depend on a clerk checking off if we got our theology right. Fortunately it depends on someone who knows us better than our mere acts and words would portray.

I can see why people would want to go to church
social activities
questions about what happens when you die
a crutch (replace booze with some thing else to depend on)

I think that the real questions should be why do people give blind faith to religious leaders that are preaching hate? Why do they think that the bible is a fact when it was really just a collection of fairy tales written by men?
