I think that if it's on your mind why not make a list. What's the harm in that? Coming up with baby names is fun for me. I picked out my little sister's middle name and it's a source of pride for me. Doesn't matter how old you are or if you're pregnant or not. Although it does help to know what the last name is going to be. Your spouse may or may not agree with you, but usually you can find something that you both like. You just may have a head start in that department.

I think when you're about to have the baby. If you pick out baby names when you're 13 or 14 years old, by the time you have children, you might be totally against the names, saying to yourself, "Why did I ever like THAT name? Sounds like a stripper!" LOL

I agree with the first answer ...partner can share in naming...
Also, it's a good idea to wait until you're ready to have a baby because there is a tendency for new names to become popular fairly often. Maybe you'll want a unique name--in that case it's a good idea to wait too--to make sure it's not already taken. :)

i had a few names picked out before i got pregnant. but we ended up choosing different names.. you should think about babies names while you are pregnant and with the father of the child. so you both have a say and a decision in the names.

When the baby is born you'll know what name to give him or her, I've been thinking about baby names for years, I've got a few in mind, but if when he or she is born, he or she doesn't seem to suit any of the names, then I'll have to think of one that does suit.

I usually start naming a baby while I'm pregnant with that baby. But, my last son was to be Zachary and when he was born I changed my mind and named him Jayden...it suites him. Best wishes

I named two of my kids while I was pregnant, but with the last one, we just couldnt think of names to go with Paul as a second name.... so we called him Paul, then when he was born.. we looked at him and said he doesn't look like a Paul, so we called him Joshua Paul... perfect.

I would suggest coming up with ideas on names while you're pregnant. Then once your child is born, you can pick the name that suits the child's personality.

I would say that one should not think about baby names until one actually has a baby coming.
