I don't think you can really know someone well enough that you haven't met in person. The reason? because that person is only showing you the side of them that they want you to see. You can't see their faults and flaws online. I believe you can fall for someone online, I just don't believe it is based on reality, so therefore, there is a good chance that it wont work, in the long run. It's only after meeting someone and seeing them over and over again that you will know if what they portray is real.

look, i tried it sometimes! The first time it was awful! the guy was ...! The second time we were talking for about a month via internet and then had a relationship which lasted for 2 months! Then, i met some other guys, but my boyfriend was one of my real friends! So, bearing in mind all these cases, i wouldn't have a permanent relationship in such a way!

Yes I believe so. My current boyfriend is someone who I met off of MySpace but I'm not quite sure if it's really considered meeting him off the interent because I was dating one of his friends for a very short period of time and I was always around his friends so I knew all his friends before I met my current boyfriend, but he was never around when I was there. But we began speaking on the interent at first and we dated for 4 months and got into a relationship 3 months ago. I'm very much in love with my boyfriend and this is the best relationship I have ever been in.

It's not only possible it happens all the time.
It's work and it takes 2 very mature people and a love deep enough to abide the seperations that are inevitable while you get to know one another.
