We really do like the simple stuff, don't let anyone fool ya. It's the thought that counts. One rose means a lot more to us than a dozen. A nice simple pair of hoop earrings means alot more than a big clunky bling bracelet. Just do it from the heart and don't buy her any appliances.

simple things, like chocolate (GODIVA!!!) or roses or any flower the girl may like, are good gifts. personally, roses are a little cliche, but if she likes it, it's cool. after almost a year, though, I would expect a nice bracelet or necklace (tiffany's?). It doesn't have to be super-expensive because if a girl really loves you, it shouldn't be about the material possessions you give her, it should be the fact that she'll love anything you get her, but material possessions are always good. :) for a girl, it kind of "proves" that you love her. it's a form of ownership, although it's morally wrong to be in possession of another. in any case, if you've been dating for more than a few months(maybe 8 or so months), earrings, a bracelet, or a necklace is always nice.

I wouldn't say I like stuff that are expensive...but I like gifts that you put time and effort into. You could buy any picture frame from the store but a scrapbook of us would be the best and I'd treasure it forever.

A home cooked meal means just as much or more than an expensive gift.

Simple stuff. Its the thought that counts. Money is not really important when you love someone. Even if they start off poor, they can make a comfortable life together if they try. Love can do incredible things.

Simple stuff. Much rather know he was thinking of me by stopping and picking "redneck roses" (wild flowers) spontaneously than feeling he has to plan every "romantic" part of our relationship.
