I have had no history of shoulder and arm injuries.I've had this pain for about 2 yrs now. I've seen plenty of doctors but they have said the same thing just to do regular exercises. I do my regular exercises everyday, example: massaging the area, rubbing. There is still pain. I've had x-rays done just to check if there was anything wrong with the bones in that area and it was shown that there was no sign of miss alignments or fractures. What can i do to prevent it?

Check your pillow. We should be in the same posture when we are laying down as we are standing up. If you keep our head at an angle all night long you might be pinching a nerve in your neck causing the pain. See a chiropractic doctor. Take anti-inflammatories like aspirin or ibuprophen with food. I would take it before I went to bed with a snack. God bless.

Could be arthritis. Mine only showed up with an MRI. I have it in my spine. I have found a lot of relief from back pain when I get up by taking fish oil pills. This lubricates the joints. I used to have to sit on the edge of the bed and slowly loosen up by moving back and forth before I even tried to stand up because the pain was so bad. Now I don't have to do that. I hope the best for you.

You may need a different pillow or mattress. Start by replacing your pillow with a firmer or softer one (depending on what you're using now.) If your mattress is old, it may not be giving you enough support. This can cause a lot of different aches and pains

It could be your pillow. My old pillow always did that to me. I woke up with a sore neck, shoulders, and arms. You probably just need to get a new pillow.
