As a parts pro, you should be able to get a job anywhere. Secure another job and then tell him to stick it.

This is a tough situation. If you work in a small dealership with just a handful of employees, you may be expected to to a job other than what your job title suggests. When I started in my first dealership, I did recon, and was also a technician. And a couple years down the road when the service manager/parts manager quit, I also got those jobs, too. So I was expected to do several jobs. But back to your situation, your boss SHOULD NOT have done this in front of other employees. It's just plain rude! As suggested above, you can put up with it and be unhappy, or find another job. I really don't feel you have any "legal" recourse, but if jobs are hard to come by in your area, start keeping a written log with times and dates and your boss' unprofessional-ism. At least that way, if worse comes to worse and you quit, you'll have a better chance of collecting unemployment. Good Luck!!

Quit whining and find a new job. When you leave compose a nice Professional email to his boss, his boss' boss (Get as many top executives from the Doge web site as possible) etc explaining why you left. Keep a list of all his unprofessional actions until you leave and present them again in a professional manner, and give them a contact number and email address to reach you at if they have any questions.
Make your point in the first paragraph and advise details below for those interested.
You are never going to happy there with a jerk like that so go find some thing better and take him down when you leave!
Good luck and have fun.

it would probably cost you to sue him and you very well may lose .if the car in question was sold and the buyer waiting , i rekon you should do it. in a small dealership everyone should be able to do this job when crunch time comes yes even the dept. managers, with the current economy the parts dept. is probably slow at times, as with most shops right now its spotty at best . so if you need the paycheck do it. [sorry]

probably no kind of real legal leg to stand on but does he have a superior? you could possibly talk to that person about him calling you out in front of other employees. if no one is above him, i would speak to him directly and tell him that you didn't appreciate the treatment. if he continues to behave like a jerk, i'd start looking for a job elsewhere.

Quit bellyaching and detail the car. So what if your feelings are hurt?! If your job is important to you, do what you are told and do it the best way you know how. If not, quit.
