How long are eggs fresh from the farm good for and how can you tell if they have gone bad? I've never purchased fresh eggs before, but now have the chance to. Is there a difference in taste from store bought eggs as well?

Usually about 2 weeks. A very big taste difference. The yolks are a darker yellow, and due to the range style feeding, they are better tasting.

If you suspect the egg is bad, simply place the egg into a cup of water. If the egg sinks, it is fresh..if the egg severely floats, it's bad.

EDIT ADD IN: Do not let the first answer from the first poster scare you. Fresh eggs are *much* more healthier than mass marketed eggs.

Once you have tried FF eggs, you will never want to go back to the commercial eggs. Trust me. I am a farm girl...born and raised on a farm...

You'll probably use them all before then. The eggs from a farm that are fresh will last at least 2 months. The eggs you buy in the grocery store are usually 2-3 weeks old before you get them. I hope this helps.
