God deserves to be worshiped. We do it because He told us to. He told us to because it is good for us.

Well I think that all the Gods are built on the people's prayers and worshipping. Think of Zeus, Horus and any other ancient God. They lived as long as people believed in them, but as soon as they were forgotten they turned into simple elements of the ancient cultures. Maybe 1000 years later people will have new Gods and these ones will be forgotten, they will be dead. That's why God needs us to worship him because with out this He wouldn't exist. Think of the Gods as characters from stories, because that's what they are. As long as a writer creates their lives, by writing stories about them and readers keep reading about them, those characters are alive. The same works with the Gods, only that their stories are written by multiple authors.

It has nothing to do with needing to be worshipped nor does it have to do with a low self-esteem. It is a test to see if we truly believe in him enough to worship him. Every test in life, is just a test in your beliefs in him.

Oh no God does not need it. It is us that need to worship in order to merge into Oneness with God. When we focus our mind, heart and soul onto God through the worship, we fill ourselves with God's presence. The very act of it draws God's energies towards us, making God take notice.
If we focus our mind on other non-godly things, wordly things that is, we are shutting God out. It is a mental thing that is very effective. It is our ego that keeps us separate from God. When we submit, bow down and worship, we are not letting our ego keep ourselves away from God.

Not only low self esteem, but he's conceited and self centered !
Didn't he say " Thou shalt worship no other god but me "?
**Apart from that - he's a figment of peoples over active imaginations.

God does not need to be worshiped. The worship of God is necessary for our own well being. We were made with a need to connect with each other and with God.
The Bible says, "Now this is eternal life, that you may KNOW God and Jesus Christ whom he has sent" emphasis mine

He deserves our worship. He is the creator of all that exists. He spoke the universe into existence. What He wants from us is our obedience and fellowship with us. Don't you enjoy spending time with your children? Leading and guiding them and helping them grow and mature? Same with our heavenly Father. He loves us so much that even when we screwed it so bad that we could not be in His presence anymore He made the way for us to be able to return to Him.
"Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows."--Galatians 6:7

That is a great question.
Perhaps the Almighty has major ego issues? Went through the trouble of creating existence, and now wants to be worshipped for it.

God never needs to be worshiped as GOD has no need whatsoever for anything that man could give. One might think, that GOD might have such a personal need for worship that His actions of creation would admit to such a need, however, that comes from a lack of understanding of Scripture, and assuming that anthropomorphisms actually apply to GOD, which of course, they don't. GOD didn't create us to worship GOD,,,,GOD created humanity and everything that exists, because GOD desires to have fellowship from and with everything. God doesn't need, yet desires to share. GOD is not incomplete in any sense of the word, yet desires to give to all that GOD creates opportunity to know and share in love. We exist because GOD wants humanity to know Godly Love, and therefore, each human being, is created with purpose. As part of that recognition, that we owe our existence to the Will of GOD, we can and should Worship GOD as the lessor worships the greater. As a child honors the parent, we also honor our Creator GOD. That does not preclude in any way,,,,the unique characteristic of humans, to choose to reject or refuse to honor the Creator...but it does indicate a severe lack of appreciation due to our Creator GOD.

When a man creates a great invention, who is the credit given too? To the creater of that invention right?. The work or the usefullness that the invention itself does gives credit (good or bad) to its creator.
Equally, God created us, therefore he deserves our worship. It is our duty to worship him and do things the way he wants them done.

He doesn't, that's why you don't have to, God is the only being complete within himself. I think you have low self-esteem.
