You don't say why you want to avoid silence - sometimes silence is good. You shouldn't feel compelled to avoid silence as much as possible. I find that when you ask questions of the person - their philosophies, their hobbies, their interests, their likes and dislikes, etc., you may find that the person has much to talk about as long as you haven't covered these subjects before with your gf.
Don't let some silence make you feel awkward, but if you find that the gf is not a good conversationalist, then you may have to carry the ball and copy down ideas of what you would like to talk about with her.

talk about anything about her its sweet and shell love it...
talk about anything really her interests and her personal life but not too much of that it shuts them off sometimes but besides that just ask questions about her you will find topics to talk about and try to make her laugh shell open up a little better

In my experience you cannot force conversation. if the silence is comfortable, let it be. if you are not comfortable with silence then maybe theres just not a connection there.

That's so easy. Girls love to talk! Ask her ANYthing that requires more than a "yes or no". If she's still not talking, she's either depressed or not into you.

start a fight on something silly about something she loves and let her win it like a certain singer is gay say justin timberlake is jay if she loves tha singer just give certain reason at the end just kiss her and yall get in to something new and say u win or i dont care cuz im with u

sometimes silence is good, if you talk to much it can become anoying, but if you feel like its uncomfortable, your best chance is to ask her questions about herself, I know girls dont like to admit it but we love talkinig about ourselfs, be careful though you may not be able to shut her up after word.

Talk about things that interest you. What about things that are going on in ur life. Or simply how was ur day.

Ask her questions about herself, and try not to talk about yourself much. It will add to your "mysterious appeal", and make it seem like you are interested in what she has to say.

Girls mainly like to talk about things that they can understand and compare to, like sports, comedy, and T.V. shows.
