Sounds like you are a concerned parent of a sexually active daughter. Many times, doctors will perform tests that require follow-up visits or even further testing. Be glad that your daughter has a thorough doctor. I'd advise calling the doctor or his primary nurse for more information. Don't put this off because it is very important that your daughter receive the proper treatment. Be sure to talk with her about using condoms also.

The doctor probably recognizes common signs of std's but has to do more tests to narrow it down as to which one was contracted. A condom is the best way to prevent that and an education is the best way to learn to spell ( dockter, doughter). Education is the best defense against anything.

It sounds to me like you should ask the doctor this question. If he/she cant give you an explanation you are comfortable with, I'd get a second opinion. I am not a doctor myself, of course, but it seems odd to me that a doctor would need two tests to determine if she has an std. If the doctor suspected an std, and said they needed to test, that makes sense. but two tests ? Why?again, ask your doctor this question.

I definitely agree with sarah. You need to ask the doctor why he needs a second test. He knew what he was testing for in the first place. Normally if they test you for one then they will test you for most just to be safe.
