For this section I agree. The rest of the site works well with the Q&A format, but in religion... "answers" and religion are pretty much mutually exclusive. You'll see that the "best answer" 99.999999999999999% of the time is the one that agrees most with the questioner. People just want self-affirmation in this section. There are thousands of chat rooms and message boards on the topic of religion, though. No need to make one more.

That's a good idea. I've thought about this before, that perhaps Yahoo should add a little chatting space on the answers page, so that you could chat and answer at the same time. But I guess they probably figure the chatting would take away from the answers.

it is geared so people want to answer questions-asking cost points answering gains points-you can get a lot of feedback from just one question and lots of points of view that just wouldnt happen on a chat room format-i like it-lots of love keep the peace old hippie here

Have you been to the chat rooms recently? They are full of bots now, spend 15 mins ignoring them all to discover it was all bots that were in the room!

Because the little kids here are too young to enter a chatroom and would like the whole world to know how much they like to complain about their "hard" lives.
