I think that a long time ago a Pope or some other high ranking Christian Priest said that the "Devil" worked through magic, and I was beaten over the head with this as a teenager and as a young man. However if the individuals who believe that it is evil would read their own scripture they would find that they are only to avoid the use and users of magic. No where in the Bible dose It say magic is evil. I am now a Wiccan so that just goes to show all these bigots how misguided they have let themselves become.

Have you or any other person performed a "magic" trick that, upon touching a person who had been dead for 3 days, brought them back to life, better than they were before they died. Lucifer tried to be like God and perform these "tricks". He wanted to overpower God with what he learned from him. Don't forget that Lucifer was once God's right-hand-man, the head Arch Angel. When he tried these tricks, it betrayed God and he was cast out of Heaven. That's when he decided he would be a god, and he would create his own realm to rule. He never stopped trying to overrule God, and he never will. That is why Christians believe that magic is evil, because the first magic ever done was in evil content. The miracles that Jesus and God performed were in love and they helped, not harmed.
That is not to say that I, a Christian, feel that magic is evil. But to understand why a lot of people, Christian or otherwise, do feel that way, you have to understand the origin of it. I feel that, as long as it's all in fun or to help, then there's nothing wrong with it. Although I do not believe that there are any men (or women, that is simply a generalization) that can do actual magic.

I don't believe there was magic back them but the feats that our savior described in the bible were miracles not tricks. I did notice you said THIER when the spelling should be THEIR, did you notice I said OUR. Christianity comes in many forms, knowing that there is one God, I don't think we need to separate Theirs from Ours as long as we believe.

Jesus did not perform "magic tricks." He performed miracles. Huge difference.
I am a Christian and I don't say that magic is evil. Watch the generalizations.
I find magic to be entertaining and challenging to figure out how it works.

Jesus performed miracles. What does God's Word say about magic?
" Ye shall not eat any thing with the blood: neither shall ye use enchantment, nor observe times.(Leviticus 19:26 )
"There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch. Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.(someone who talks with the dead)
For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee." ( Deuteronomy 18:10-12 )

"Magic" is not by definition, the same thing as a "Miracle".
Magic -->
1 a : the use of means (as charms or spells) believed to have supernatural power over natural forces b : magic rites or incantations
Miracle -->
1 : an extraordinary event manifesting divine intervention in human affairs
To most of those who believe in scripture, miracle's come from God, magic comes from the Devil. Two very different sources, define the difference for most people who believe. To those who don't believe in God or scripture, it would seem understandable to believe that they are the same.

Magic is evil because your powers do not come from God. Jesus did not go magic tricks. He performed miracles and I am very sure that no witch you know can do what he did. Even Davis Blane isn't that good. LOL Practicing witchcraft is very evil.

Magic is evil, but in the Bible it did not state that when Jesus healed other people it was magic, it stated they were miracles. Big difference.

Jesus did not do magic tricks, He performed miracles. what you're talking about is sorcery and Jesus definitely was not involved in that. He could be your Savior too if you let Him. i've been a Christian for seven years and i love it.
