The Necronomicon is a fictional book first mentioned in "Call of Cthulu" by H.P. Lovecraft, if I remember right.

It's most famous because it's the book that was supposed to cause all the trouble in the terribly campy "Evil Dead" series... but since all accounts say it isn't based on anything in the Christian religion (most of the stories it appears in say it's ancient Sumerian), it can't be "Satanic" per se.

As for whether or not it's good or bad, it's just a fictional work. It's make-believe. You can hate it all you want, but chances are if you have sufficient mental faculties to realize it's just fiction, it's harmless.

Oh, and for the "magic=bad" guy, what do you think the Christian mass is except a ritual used to invoke the power of God to bring favor to you and your congregation? What's communion except symbolically absorbing the flesh and blood of your savior in order to absorb his purity and power? Those would be textbook examples of magic rituals, boys and girls, even if you don't want to admit it.

The Necronomicon is a spell book. It was first mentioned in a HP Lovecraft novel, and appeared in print for the first time after the book was written. Some call it the Tibetan Book of the Dead.

Yes, it is real and you can buy it. Is it authentic? No one really knows, but if you want to believe it you can. Many do,

Yet beware, the spirits in the book may work for you, but they want something back in return.

Its just part of the whole Lovercraft fantasy horror line of Cthulu. A make-believe religion. The "followers" of Cthulu acknowledge it is only make believe, not a religion they truly believe in, they just think its fun to pretend. The Necronomicon is their holy book which outlines the spells they use as service. They do not actually worship anything.

You could make some comparison to L.Ron Hubbard. He wrote Dianetics and started Scientology. Only difference is they want to pass it off as a real religion. At least the Lovercraft group is honest enough to call it all fiction.

Due to the Judeo-Christian influence in the West, people today define Satan as the author of evil and attribute anything evil as his work. So is the Necronomicon Satanic? Not according to what it says evil is.

The original Necronomican was a book that Satan supposedly wrote. (Using humans just as God did with Paul, Mark, and so on.) The book was written in human blood and bound together with human flesh. As sad as this is anyone can walk into a Hastings or a Barnes & Noble and pick up a copy.

it's a fictious (never written) invented by H.P. Lovecraft, a 20th century writer.
I promise to write more, I searched answers for other topics and found your question. A search for Lovecraft and Necronomicon would help you.

It's a book of spells. Apart from noting that the Bible warns against practice of magic and witchcraft, I would strongly advise you from personal experience not to start messing with your mind that way. It is very hard to live a happy life with those thoughts polluting your psyche.
