I have not even been given notice in writing. Plus I have been given 2 weeks notice not 1 month. I never knew the house was for sale

It depends on what your lease says. You need to dig out your copy and be able to show that your landlady agreed to 3 months notice - that seems excessively long to me, but you could be right. If you can produce your lease and it does say that she said she would give you 3 months notice, then you have a reasonable case. But since she sold the house, and she won't own it after the house closes, then you're going to be SOL anyway. Start packing and see if you can salvage any compensation for you having to move in such a short time. Good luck and sorry that happened.

you have legal rights if you have a lease or if you have been there for awhile... no one can find another place to move, pack and move in 2 weeks (sometimes you have to wait 3 weeks to a month for a place to be vacant for you to move in).

call your mayor's office ... tell them the situation and ask them who you should call. Mayor's offices are good places to call because they try to help.

Good luck. I have had the same thing happen to me. It sucks. But you have the law behind you ... so you are in control ... they just think you don't know it. Say "no, I can't move in 2 weeks" and make your calls.

Follow the contracts, you can sue your landlady by showing your evidence!Or communicate with the buyer and tell him about the contracts!Ignorance of the law excuse no one!

Check your lease for fine print,if it clearly states a 3 month notice then send her a certified letter stating it and that you wish to have it honored,or you can ask for the 3 months rent to be paid to you if she can't honor the lease. Also check with your lawyer as to your laws.

Contact the management company and or a lawyer. The Daily buzz has one one once a week, and KGO radio in SF, has one once or twice a week, on the air and on their website.

by law you have a minimum of 30 days to move... and if you have it in writing that it is supposed to be 3 months, then get an atty and make it stick.
