Thanks For Your Question :)

Well according to Islam He Didn't .....God says In The Quraan : And because of their saying (in boast), "We killed Messiah 'Iesa (Jesus), son of Mariam (Mary), the Messenger of Allah," - but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but the resemblance of 'Iesa (Jesus) was put over another man (and they killed that man), and those who differ therein are full of doubts. They have no (certain) knowledge, they follow nothing but conjecture. For surely; they killed him not [i.e. 'Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary) But Allah raised him ['Iesa (Jesus)] up (with his body and soul) unto Himself (and he is in the heavens). And Allah is Ever AllPowerful, AllWise.

Because God is eternal, He has not limit on time, past present and future.
Because of Adam's sin in the Garden of Eden, sin entered into the world and brought death to man and sin sends man to Hell.
There is no forgiveness of sins without the shedding of blood.
So God devised a plan, he would select a group of people(Jews) to live by some sort of godliness so he could send Jesus(Himself) to be a Scarface for sin.
God told the Jews when he would come, where, and how he would be born. He also told them what he would do(Heal, raise the dead, etc.) and how he would die(Isiah 52 and 53) and also that he would be raised from the dead. this Scarface would be Messiah, Savior, King, and Son of God.
So Jesus had to die for our sins, he took our punishment for our sins so we wouldn't have to. Only God himself can forgive sins.
Because God is past, present, and future, He can take all of our sins, from Adam and Eve to the last person born on the earth, from what we did yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
Only God could forgive every sin done, did, and about to do, why, because he is God.

And Jesus is alive 2day. He fulfilled every prophecy in the old testament about the Messiah(all 469 of them). No one else has done that.

He had to die so the elect that the Father gave him before the founation of the world would be saved. The Father did not give everonye to Jesus to die for but only the elect. Jesus did not die to simply offer the possibility of salvation to anyone who would choose but he actually brought salvation to those he died for. His death was successful in every way. If he died for those who are not saved then he failed in his mission. John 6, John 17

because He was the ultimate sacrifice to wash away our sin and therfore has fulfilled the law. We are now under Grace because he knows we will sin. Also the devil himself wanted Jesus to die but did not know what the result would be, that we are not condemned anymore to law.

He didn't have to die but according to Christianity he died to cleanse humanity of its sins. Many believe that he didn't die on the cross but was only weak and faint, then taken off and lived on for many years there after.

Ever been to court? Did you say, "But judge, I've done alot of good things in my life, will you let me go?" Think he will??
Instead of giving you justice, God wants to give you mercy. Through Jesus dying for your sins and paying the penalty, you can leave the court room.

It's a free gift. Alls you have to do is ask for it.

Because a perfect sacrifice (unblemished lamb) was required to atone for the sins of humanity. No human was good enough, so God had to take human form to shed the blood required for our redemption. God is a just God. Someone must pay for sins, and He was is a loving God that He bore the price himself.

To save humanity from the depths of Hell and to offer salvation and eternal life to those who accept Jesus as the Savior. He also needed to conquer death in order to do so.

In the Old Testiment, God required a "perfect" sacrifice for people to be forgiven of their sins. Jesus was the only one who could do it.
