I am a non-religion Christian. Not Cathiloc, Jewish. Baptist, Mormon, whatever. I believe in Christ and the Bible. Dont shove it down everyones throat, and believe everyone has a right to believe what they want.

So, knowing not all Christians are the same, why do so many "non-believers" spout of with ALL christians are idiots, ALL christians are stupid, ALL christians dont think for themselves? Its rude, they cant possibly know ALL christians, cant you people open your eyes enough to give SOME christians enough credit for not being like the far right christians? Geez, cut us some slack, would ya? SOME of us have real honest ideas, you may LEARN something from some of us!

No memenot Mori, Im not. By learn something, I mean you may LEARN something about Christians NOT being all of those things you never knew before. SOME christians may change the way you think about them as a group, if youd listen to them instead of passing them of as ignorant twits. I dont want to change your beliefs.

FREAKZILA Everyone takes someone elses word as belief, in any aspect of life. To take anything as FACT defies the purpose of belief.

generalizing is always a bad thing, and it shows ignorance.

like for example, one of the answerers here, named "chaz". He/she writes: "I'm with you - but i'm not sure that the atheists will be. They always look for ways to stereotype and condemn us."

how is this not generalizing to atheists?

I admitt, i sometimes do it too, and after i realize i do it, i try to apoligize. it's in human nature: something makes somebody angry, he/she wants to react, and does that quickly with a generalization. It's stupid, it's ignorant, yet we all make that mistake from time to time.

can i still get angry at ALL "fundamentalist bible-quoting zealot christians that condemn homosexuality based on only their own disgust" ? :p

but i agree with you, we shouldn't generalize. i am a non-believer, i wouldn't call myself atheist. Yet i respect every religion, and i respect most people that follow those religions. I have the most interesting debates with some of them, and i wouldn't wanna miss that for the world.

I think it is cool to believe in what you want to and everyone has the right. Moreover, it should not be shoved down your throat, but on the other hand I think broadcasting such dislike about someones belief is a little offensive. I hope lighting hasn't struck you in the a** my dear. For those of us who live by the Bible and believe in God and Christ also need more, I know I do. Again, if you are tired just stop listening and entertaining yourself with whom ever it is that making your life miserable with a little enlightenment. We could probably learn something from them too. Much love.

I'd consider it coming from a lack of experience. A former co-worker converted to Catholicism (she previously attended a Baptist community) to marry her husband but could not stand to sit at Mass because every time she looked at the priest she thought "pedophile, pedophile." This is the only Catholic priest she's ever known personally, but her mediated reality (ie, the news, dramas) brought her to that conclusion.

In the same vein, someone with little experience with Christians can easily say "That Fred Phelps is a screwball. So are all Christians!" The same mindset is behind most bigotry, and a stereotype (however undeserved) like "All Christians are stupid!" is likewise bigoted even if the intent is not to hate but rather to reflect a deeply-held, albeit irrational, belief.

It's also easy to sit in front of a monitor and spew filth and bile at anyone and everyone. I guarantee you most would not be so brazen to your face. What I find interesting is the number of responses from those who consider themselves atheists but who would answer you so angrily. If there is no God, if they deeply believe that, why do they take offense? It seems instead to be a bigoted opinion formed from ignorance.

Live the truth.

While there is plenty of prejudice against nearly everyone and everything, if you put in print, movie, book, tv talk show, etc anything negative about Christians, Jesus, salvation, etc = there is no problem, no legal ramifications, no riots, no protests, no one physically injured or killed. Isn't that odd?
Have you seen or heard "what a stupid Buddist, Hindu, Muslim, black, etc ? And, picture this, if you did what do you think would happen.
The people bashing Christians have little or no knowledge of what a christian is, or of what the Bible teaches.
It's also strange to say that Christians are weak, stupid, uneducated. In recent years as "educated" people try to disprove the Bible, they keep coming up with proofs that "something" exists and Bible "stories" are real . Does that mean that they are now stupid?

So you believe the Great commission is invalid. Why would you give the world around you a right to believe in whatever they want. Is that what God does? Is that what Jesus did? Did Jesus bypass the Samaritan Woman, Did he ignore the Pharisees, the San Hedrin and the Sadducees, Did he ignore the very Romans which crucified him? Did he ignore the people defacing the temple? No, were are called to mirror Christ, not to hate, not to forget about people and let them go their own way. We are taught to love, to be disciples to all nations. We are taught to forgive. We are taught to be intolerant, but to do it in love, with respect. I agree shoving it down someones throat will gain nothing but discontent, but people are asking questions. People deserve Godly answers from loving Christians.

This is an area where people can discuss topics like this. If this offends you you may have to not visit here.

The people that are posting, are just following one of Jesus' mandates which tells them to preach the gospel throughout the whole earth.

Last time I check, the Internet is a fixture on earth, and an excellent place to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. So, they are just doing what they are supposed to do. In some circles what they are doing is called The Great Commission.

The Great Commission is not a Far-Right, Far-Left or Moderate viewpoint. It is Bible. You can read it for yourself.

Don't be insulted of what I might say, I'm Christian too.

Anyway, most of them are idiots, or they are against something very big or that everyone likes. Like Pokemon. Or the Davinci Code (Very controversial, but I just see it as a good read. Say that the bible is pure truth and that the Davinci Code is pure fiction made them sound like a cult) or Passion of the Christ (A Friggin movie, if they are truly Christians, they won't go and change religions or something over this! It's called F-R-E-E-D-O-M!)

I come from a mixed religion family. My mother was Catholic and my father's side was everything from Lutheran to Moonie. I call myself a Theist. I beleive in God, just not organized religion.

Here is a theme song for some of us from the Irish Rovers:
Oh, it is the biggest mix-up that you have ever seen.
My father, he was Orange and me mother, she was green.

My father was an Ulster man, proud Protestant was he.
My mother was a Catholic girl, from county Cork was she.
They were married in two churches, lived happily enough,
Until the day that I was born and things got rather tough.

Baptized by Father Riley, I was rushed away by car,
To be made a little Orangeman, my father's shining star.
I was christened "David Anthony," but still, inspite of that,
To me father, I was William, while my mother called me Pat.

With Mother every Sunday, to Mass I'd proudly stroll.
Then after that, the Orange lodge would try to save my soul.
For both sides tried to claim me, but i was smart because
I'd play the flute or play the harp, depending where I was.

Now when I'd sing those rebel songs, much to me mother's joy,
Me father would jump up and say, "Look here would you me boy.
That's quite enough of that lot", he'd then toss me a coin
And he'd have me sing the Orange Flute or the Heros of The Boyne

One day me Ma's relations came round to visit me.
Just as my father's kinfolk were all sitting down to tea.
We tried to smooth things over, but they all began to fight.
And me, being strictly neutral, I bashed everyone in sight.

My parents never could agree about my type of school.
My learning was all done at home, that's why I'm such a fool.
They've both passed on, God rest 'em, but left me caught between
That awful color problem of the Orange and the Green.

With you? Where are you going? What flavor is the kool aid? I like grape, rhymes with rape-which the Catholic priests relish so greatly. Or cherry, rhymes with merry-which modern Christians seem to be making while strolling down the path of perdition and destruction. Sometimes, I like punch flavored kool-aid, which of course rhymes with bunch-which Christians do in hopes that it will save them from the wrath of YHVH which is soon coming upon the Church. But mostly, I just prefer the Water of Life, unadulterated by mans poisonous additions, flavorings and ‘saccharine’. What would ‘Answers’ be without all the ‘shovers’ and shakers?
