I would have to look at the source ,material myself to make this determination.
To me it seems plausible. I read the book, and I haven't seen the movie. It sure looks like a woman next to Jesus in the Last Supper painting.
Opuis Dei is real. You can look them up.
There was a Nicean counsel, and at the counsel they wrote the Nicean creed which is still recited in Catholic Churches to this day. This is the counsel that the book says "elected" Jesus the savior.
Like I said, I'd have to research the Nicean counsel and go deeper than what you can find on the Internet.

The DaVinci Code is a novel, a work of fiction. It was never meant to be taken as factual. Yes, Dan Brown mentions real life things, like The Louvre in Paris, DaVinci paintings, Opus Dei, but he is taking "poetic license" when doing that. The DaVinci Code is not a history lesson. It is fiction, meaning it was a made up story, similar to Indiana Jones and Raiders of the Lost Ark. It was never meant to be taken seriously.

Loved the book, haven't seen the movie yet. It is a work of fiction, although locations and some organizations are factual.

It is a fictional murder mystery novel based on some facts (i.e. the Templar Knights actually exist, the description of paintings and the museums and churches visited) but all of the linking together that is in it is not true.

Fun book but just that. The "facts" in it have been mostly disproved.
I like the premiss though...Sacred Feminine. World religion badly needs the balance lost since the goddess was cast dawn and made impure, evil, obscene.

It has entertainment value. Factual? No. Basic history proves that, and you don't have to use a Bible to support many arguments.

It is a good book that provides a theory in religion. I am not sure if it is factual, but one never knows...

Thought it was a great book, haven't seen the movie yet. I am not Catholic so I did wonder how much of it was fact...but I know it's fiction so I guess it doesn't really matter!
