You're assuming ignorance would make you happy and being informed makes one unhappy. In my opinion, a totally erroneous assumption.

A great philosopher which is well known to all is Socrates. Socrates had student named Plato. Plato wrote a dialogue called 'The Republic' which questions this kind of theory. Have a read of it. The basics are in the Allegory of the Cave in which three subjects are tied to their chair in a darkened cave since birth, their heads are fixed so as they cannot move (yes it sounds sick but it is only an allegory) The only reality that is apparent to the subjects is the shadows cast across the cave of the world around, shadows of animals and other various forms as they reflect with the sun or pass by the entrance to the cave. Anyway, to the subjects this is their reality and they have known no other. One of the subjects is finally released and is able to view the outside world in all it's bright glory he goes out and initially is blinded by the light as he is unused to any light but the shadows of the forms. The conclusion initially is that when you have a perception of reality that is familiar any new unknown information is painful to you but eventually the subjects eyes accustom to the sun and he sees the world in all it's fine glory. So anyway the final conclusion is that being informed is the best way to be although initially it may be painful.

What of the other choices? Ignorant and unhappy or informed and happy or just plain ignorant or simply informed or just happy or for whatever reasons, unhappy. (Or Catholic). Why limit us? I have been informed of the only plan of salvation offered to men which is the death, burial and resurrection of the Christ and I’m happy He has chosen me to be In Him for eternity.

i'd bypass for the crimson. Freedom is the considerable reason. you should artwork with the reality, satisfied or unhappy life will be real. lack of knowledge is an similar as lack of existence, each and each second an similar, no longer some other thing desirable. Like a herd in a pen on the stockyard, the purely go out a ramp to the butcher's knife. With understand-how of the reality one has the alternative of jumping the fence or starting up a stampede. possibly no longer satisfied, yet a minimum of proactive.

Only someone lazy would be unhappy to be informed. If you are ignorant then you have no responsibility to see things as they are or to try and change the ills that you see.

why would being informed make you unhappy? knowing that i'm going to spend eternity with God makes me extremely happy. it makes me want to shout it from the mountains and go dancing in the streets. I Love God. being a Christians is not always easy and blissful, but it is so worth it.

it is better to be free. if being informed does not help you make better choices, then maybe believing in that info or obsessing about it is not use full to you. OK I'm going to quote Jesus here but it is true no matter what your religon. " god made the sabath for man, not man for the sabath" your relegion and belifes should serve you. not the other way around.
good luck on your spirtual quest

Informed and unhappy. To be willfully ignorant is almost like driving blind.
